The Super Connectors NYC with Andy Walsh
Just dropped a new episode of The Super Connectors podcast with Andy Walsh [https://www.linkedin.com/feed/#] and this one is full of gold for anyone building in startups.
A few things that really stuck with me:
“If you don’t have a network, you can’t survive in New York. Let alone build a business.”
Andy’s built, exited, invested, advised, and one thing kept coming up again and again:
The real edge is better people.
In a world full of AI spam, copycat startups and endless content, Andy made a point I fully agree with:
Nothing is stronger than connecting with someone in person.
A few other nuggets from our chat:
- the best connectors are always thinking "who should this person meet?"
- your network gets stronger when you connect people even when there’s nothing in it for you
- founders do not just need capital, they need the right lawyers, operators, investors, advisors and early believers
- if you want to stand out, stop trying to sound impressive and start being human, honest and useful
Good founders remember the people who genuinely help them.
Andy is also intentionally backing more female founders and pushing for a more balanced startup ecosystem, which I respect a lot.
This episode is really about one thing:
Your network is about survival, leverage & momentum.
Listen to the full episode if you’re building a startup, investing, or just want to get much better at connecting the right people.
