We originally recorded this episode for Christmas, but we had a late cancelation. So here it is for Thanksgiving!! Enjoy! ——————————————————————— James M. Hawes completed BUD/S in 1963 and received orders to the newly formed SEAL Team 2. Hawes subsequently volunteered for duty in Vietnam and became one of the first SEAL officers permanently assigned there as part of CIA's OpPlan 34-A, governing covert operations into North Vietnam. That led to his clandestine CIA mission to build and command a mercenary navy in the Congo in 1965-66. After several years working for the Agency, he attended Harvard, receiving his MBA in 1971. He finally settled in Asia, living there for 34 years and pioneering a variety of business enterprises, including specialized shipping and commercial real estate. Hawes currently lives near San Antonio, Texas, and is a consultant for a variety of new venture companies. As founder and President, Mr. Devost oversaw all research, analysis, intelligence, assessment, and training programs including the development of the renowned “Mirror Image” training program, the Responder Knowledge Base, and the Terrorism Early Warning Group program which established local intel fusion centers in 56 high-threat U.S. cities. In addition to his duties as President, Mr. Devost also provided strategic consulting services to select international governments and corporations on issues of counter-terrorism, intelligence, information warfare and security, critical infrastructure protection, and homeland security. In 2004, Mr. Devost was appointed to the Defense Science Board Task Force on Critical Homeland Infrastructure Protection to provide advice to the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security. Mr. Devost served as a Senior Advisor to the Airline Pilots Association National Security Committee and is and adjunct member of the Los Angeles Terrorism Early Warning Group. Darrell M. Blocker is a former American intelligence officer who served for 28 years with the Central Intelligence Agency. He held prominent positions including deputy director of the Counterterrorism Center (CTC), Chief of Africa Division, and Chief of Training at Camp Peary, Virginia, better known as "The Farm". Within the intelligence community, Blocker was known for participating in a number of semi-professional musical ensembles during his postings abroad. He retired in 2018 as the most senior black officer in the CIA's Directorate of Operations. Since 2019 Blocker has been chief operating officer of intelligence and advisory firm MOSAIC, and a contributor for ABC News. In November 2020, Fox News reported that president-elect Joe Biden had included Blocker among his shortlist of candidates to nominate for Director of the Central Intelligence Agency; in the end, the position went to William Burns.
