Brandon Jennings’ basketball journey was a truly disruptive one. Coming up in LA, he was a phenomenon. A dynamic scorer who played with an edge and ducked no smoke. He left California for Oak Hill Academy and then opted to play (and get paid as a pro) overseas rather than the college route. By the team he was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks he had the poise and the polish to make an immediate impact in the league. Beyond his talent, Brandon established an identity for going against the grain and embracing his sense of style. From playing in Italy at 18 years old, to becoming Under Armour’s first signature basketball athlete, to launching his own clothing brand, Tuff Crowd, he’s always trusted his instincts. Even when he walked away from the game, Brandon knew that he had done enough playing basketball to feel satisfied and to welcome his next challenge. With a name like God Shammgod, you’re literally anointed at birth. Coming up in New York, the Mecca of basketball, Shamm was anointed as one of those special point guards in a city rich in PG talent. Combine playing in a golden era of NYC talent, where creativity and swagger ruled supreme, Shamm we primed to stand out. And then having an all-time signature move…that’s the stuff of legend.  Now Shamm has used his unique talent and upbringing to find a place in coaching where he is integral in developing talent. From coaching on the staff in Dallas with the likes of Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic, to a move onto Orlando as an assistant, he is truly using his talent to leave a legacy on the game. Episode 7 | Catch12’s China Takeover | From The Make Them Watch Tour

For the Ja 3 “Make Them Watch Tour” to China the full squad made the trip overseas. Beyond the rollout of the shoe, it was a tour that connected to fans, with some time on the court and of course some time to take in the culture. On their stop in Shanghai, the crew connected with Alexia of Complex China and hip hop artist Skai.  For Tee, Phil, Tap, Trey, JT and Ja it was a chance to talk through the Team Morant perspective, while learning about the culture. Of course the fans showed an incredible amount of love and support. Memphis born and raised, Elliot Perry is a pillar in a city deeply rooted in basketball culture. Coming up, Elliot aka Chuck, was a point guard phenom. His game was built around tough competition, accepting all challengers and making an impact however possible. When it came time to go to college, he chose to stay a play for Memphis State. A school that matched both his intensity and desire.  For Elliot the game has always given back what he put into it. In his time in the NBA, he made a name for himself as a player and a leader. That professionalism and personality led him to a career after basketball in the front office and on to ownership back home in Memphis. EPISODE 5 | NOLAN SMITH | BUILT DIFFERENT

Nolan Smith was literally born into basketball. The son of Derek Smith, who won a championship in Louisville, a 9-year pro, who tragically passed. For Nolan that tragedy linked him to the game and motivated him to be great. He went on to Duke, was a standout player and won a national championship.  Over the past 9 nine years, Nolan has turned the page to coaching. When injuries cut his playing career short, he returned to Duke to learn how to apply his knowledge and experience as a coach. With time in Durham and Louisville, and then most recently in Memphis as an assistant, he Nolan has showing how he's found his next calling. And now as the newly hired head coach of Tennessee State, Coach Smith is ready to lead a program of his own.
