How to Grow Church Members into Kingdom Leaders, who will Foster Change.
This is simply about, How to Reach and Win Sinners and Grow them to become Church Members and Kingdom Leaders who will in turn reach sinners and grow them on and on until Jesus comes. It teaches how to Grow the Church by Increasing Engagement.
SOUL-IN-MILLIONS MANDATE
My heart-cry every day is, ‘Lord, Give Me Souls in Millions’. This, which I believe, is the heartbeat of God has been my cry since the days I first had my salvation encounter, with the Lord, Jesus. The whole of heaven including the angels rejoices when a sinner is won to the Kingdom. However, beyond just winning souls, there’s the Holy Spirit, aided task, of tending and sustaining them. Then after they’ve been tended and sustained, what should follow is that they reproduce themselves.
It is a known fact that the church today, is a body of babies, who are unable to discern between good and evil. They are babies, who are easily swayed by every wind of doctrine and the deception of false leaders, running their own self-styled, end time, ungodly agenda. Our focus is no longer the Kingdom of God but every other thing that the Kingdom is not.
There is also the fact that, where souls are won, they end up not being well nurtured until they reach maturity. Discipleship has become a programme people attend to gain positions and not the essentials of the church. Sunday Schools are no longer attended, the truth is that it is a caricature of the original intents.
And most appalling of all is that Christians no longer grow to the extent of desiring to win souls and make sure that the fruits remain and grow up to become themselves soul winners. In a nut shell, the church is not reproducing but recycling members. Christians hardly take responsibility for the souls of men; we are largely selfish (flesh oriented) and seem not to know about the existence of the term selflessness, which is the fulcrum of Christianity. Christianity and church attendance have become that of ‘what’s in it for me’. Yet the only true access to the blessings of God is to ‘seek first His Kingdom and its righteousness’.
This book focuses on answering the above dilemma that has enveloped the body of Christ. It’s one in a series of books on the subject: Growing Church Growers.
In it, we have Inspiration 20-20 addressing the need to reach out to people both publicly and privately. After this, the true meaning of the body called Church was defined. That was immediately followed by a brief reflection on the concept, Church Growers. Then we have illustrations and analogies to explain the idea more clearly.
At this junction there is an interlude of a sort to introduce the reader to the authors project, known as ‘PROJECT LEAD THE CHANGE’, from which this series is birthed. This was then followed by an explosive teaching, that explores the need for the Church leaders (five-fold ministers), to equip the saints for the work of service. It was after this had been thoroughly deliberated upon, that THE FRUIT HANGING SYSTEM, meant to grow men who will grow others, was introduced. This answers NINE FUNDAMENTAL QUESTIONS about soul winning, tending and sustaining. Then the book concludes with a call to action as Christians are challenged to become KINGDOM CAPTAINS.
The only thing that rings in my ears while writing this preface is that, ‘the church of Christ must grow, in depth, length and breadth and the man to make it happen is not just a church leader somewhere, but you. You must be intentional, bold and decisive about it. I challenge you today, to take the lead. Lead the change; don’t wait for leaders. YOU ARE THE LEADER!
