episode The Missing Village... Motherhood and community cover

The Missing Village... Motherhood and community

In this episode, I’m joined by my best friend, Lauren and occasional co-host on The Wisdom of Matriarchs. Together we explore something I believe every woman longs for... a village. Following Lauren's recent pregnancy, we reflect on what it looked like to receive support when family wasn't close by, and how a community of women rallied around with meals, practical help, and simply being there. We talk about why so many of us feel isolated in modern motherhood, how we've normalised doing everything alone, and what it really means to build a village in today's world. Not communal living or losing our independence, but creating meaningful friendships, asking for help, and becoming the kind of person who shows up for others too. We also share why we created Yorkshire Mama and The Prenatal Village — spaces where women can gather in person to be supported, learn, share stories, and navigate pregnancy, birth and motherhood together. This episode is an invitation to stop waiting for the village to appear... and to start becoming part of one. episode Post-Partum MATTERS - With Lauren Clover Yoga Postpartum cover

Post-Partum MATTERS - With Lauren Clover Yoga Postpartum

In this episode, I’m joined by the wonderful Lauren — founder of Clover Yoga Postpartum, postpartum doula, educator, and passionate champion of mothers. We explore the realities of modern motherhood, the forgotten wisdom of postpartum care, and why the first six weeks after birth deserve so much more than a quick check-up and a return to normal. Lauren shares her journey into birth work, the importance of rest, nourishment, and community, and why she's so passionate about helping families reclaim a slower, more supported postpartum. We also speak honestly about social media, the pressures of running an online business, and the importance of authenticity, boundaries, and staying true to yourself in a digital world. This is a conversation for every mother, birth worker, and family wanting to understand postpartum not as six weeks to survive, but as a sacred transition to honour. 🌿 Connect with Lauren: Website: HERE [https://stan.store/cloveryogapostpartum?utm_source=ig&utm_medium=social&utm_content=link_in_bio&fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQPOTM2NjE5NzQzMzkyNDU5AAGnJVAGd1FA-XUDLHMsQE4pw-FBPjufVClZhWZTlfIrZcYT9a2tOuF0eknPHxA_aem_4emdj7T3oKvRhSl4y9yFGg] Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cloveryogapostpartum [https://www.instagram.com/cloveryogapostpartum] If you're loving these conversations, you can support the podcast via https://buymeacoffee.com/julesj?new=1 [https://buymeacoffee.com/julesj?new=1] — every bit helps bring more wisdom your way! episode Modern day beauty standards... cover

Modern day beauty standards...

In this episode, I’m joined by one of my best friend (and silent co-host) for an honest conversation about womanhood, ageing and the growing pressure on women to stay forever young. We explore the beauty industry that profits from our insecurities. We also speak about the messages our daughters are growing up with, the influence of social media and AI, and why ageing is a rite of passage to be honoured, not hidden. This is a conversation about reclaiming trust in our natural faces, our changing bodies, and choosing a different path for ourselves and the next generation. We hope you enjoy our musings... episode Danny Bent cover

Danny Bent

In this episode, I’m joined by Danny Bent — adventurer, speaker, community builder, and leader of transformational experiences that invite people back to themselves through challenge, connection, and the natural world. Danny has lived many lives in one lifetime. From endurance events and wild adventures to deep inner work, psychedelics, men's work, and rites of passage, his path has been one of continually exploring what it means to be fully human. We speak about resilience and emotional expression, the role of healthy anger, and the importance of initiation in a world that often leaves people disconnected from themselves, their communities, and the natural rhythms of life. Danny shares his experiences with psychedelics and psychotherapy, the profound lessons they offered, and the healing journey of meeting shame with compassion and understanding. We also explore modern overwhelm, the increasing pull towards nature and simplicity, raising resilient humans, food, hunting, adventure, and what it means to stay grounded and connected in a rapidly changing world shaped by technology and AI. This is a rich, thought-provoking conversation about courage, belonging, healing, and remembering the parts of ourselves that modern life often asks us to forget. episode Melissa Gut Harmony Mama cover

Melissa Gut Harmony Mama

In this episode, I’m joined by Melissa Sowery, the creator of Gut Harmony Mama — a mother, educator, and passionate advocate for a gentler, gut-first approach to starting solids. Her journey began with her eldest child's struggles with eczema, and a growing sense that mainstream weaning advice wasn't addressing the root causes of the health challenges so many children face today. We explore the connection between gut health, immunity, eczema, allergies, asthma, and the modern influences that can impact a child's microbiome from the very beginning — including antibiotics, birth interventions, formula feeding, processed foods, and environmental exposures. Drawing on the GAPS framework, we discuss nourishing foods that support healing and resilience, from meat stocks and slow-cooked meats to healthy fats and fermented foods. We also talk about introducing solids slowly, intentionally, and in tune with a baby's developmental readiness and cues. This conversation is packed with practical wisdom for parents who want to support their children's health from the inside out and feel more confident navigating the journey of feeding their families. Liker at det er både Podcaster (godt utvalg) og lydbøker i samme app, pluss at man kan holde Podcaster og lydbøker atskilt i biblioteket.
