When We Mess Up | When in Romans | June 14, 2026

We’re starting our new summer worship series, When in Romans. The phrase “when in Rome” is a shortened version of the proverb “When in Rome, do as the Romans do”. It means you should adapt to the customs, traditions, or behaviors of the people in the area you are visiting. In a playful turn of phrase, our summer series helps us adapt to the letter Paul wrote to the Romans. It’s considered his masterpiece. The key to Paul’s carefully formulated message is Romans 1:16 “I’m not ashamed of the gospel: it is God’s own power for salvation to all who have faith in God, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”

Today we celebrate our high school graduates and hear Jesus’ words about two foundations in life. You either hear what Jesus says and you do it; or you ignore God’s ways and don’t actually practice Jesus’ words in your life.

Driving in St. Louis | Trinity Sunday | May 31, 2026

Today we celebrate Trinity Sunday, recognizing our One God in Three Persons: Father, Son, Holy Spirit. This is the only Sunday on the church calendar that is devoted to a doctrine or an article of faith. At the end of Matthew’s gospel, Jesus sends his disciples into the world to make new disciples of Jesus and baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
