Les mer Towards a Sustainable Cruise Tourism Industry: Changing Tourist Behaviour in the Ports of Greenland
This podcast series gives regular updates on the research project - Towards a Sustainable Cruise Tourism Industry: Changing Tourist Behaviour in the Ports of Greenland. This is an industrial PhD project supported by Innovation Fund Denmark and Visit Greenland, and carried out by Elizabeth Cooper, who is a PhD Fellow enrolled at Copenhagen Business School. The podcast series is aimed primarily at tourism practitioners in Greenland and around the world. It is also interesting for scholars within tourism studies and behavioural studies.
What do we know about the tourists who come to Greenland?
In this episode I give a short update on my PhD research so far, and then have a discussion with two members of Visit Greenland's Destination Development team, Idrissia Thestrup and Tanny Por. We talk about what motivates tourists to go to Greenland, with a focus on two specific concepts: "last chance" tourism, and "bucket list" tourism. How important are these concepts to Greenland's tourists? And how should we even understand these terms?
