In 2008, 21-year-old Denise Amber Lee was abducted from her home in North Port, Florida, and murdered. This case was widely reported on and became well known because of the circumstances surrounding her death. Despite multiple 911 calls, some operators failed to report their findings to law enforcement during the active kidnapping. This ultimately led to Denise not being found in time, when she was right under the nose of police officers stationed around the area. Denise herself even called 911 and tried to get help, but tragically, nothing worked to save her. In the early hours of September 2, 2022, 34-year-old wife and mother of two Eliza Fletcher went out for a ten mile run. She had been training for a marathon, and found that the earlier she went out for her runs, the more time she had later in the day to spend with her two young sons. But in the middle of this run, she was shot and killed. On the night of February 6, 2021, 26-year-old grad student Kevin Jiang left his fiancée's apartment in New Haven, CT. After he got into his car, another car crashed into it from behind.
