Steelers Break Their Primetime Cold Streak?
On this episode of Steelers Central, it's time to look at which playoff-pushing team will prevail, the team that is 1-11 without T.J. Watt or the QB that is 1-7 when playing in games under 46 degrees. In typical Steelers fashion, the team that controls the LOS, stops the run, and runs the ball well will win this game. The Steelers must stop the Dolphins' Jumbo packages with their banged-up defensive line and their lethal run game featuring DeVon Achane, which has been among the best in the NFL over the last four games. The Steelers, on the other hand, hope to get Mount Washington back to bolster their run game that has struggled in recent weeks, totaling only 34 yards last week. Pittsburgh must also disguise its defense and disrupt Tua Tagovailoa in a passing offense predicated on speed and deception, not on attacking deep. Hopefully, resulting in some turnovers. Lastly, I'll explain why Keeanu Benton must hold up against arguably the league's best center in Aaron Brewer, and what will happen if he doesn't. Aaron Rodgers must also watch out for Minkah Fitzpatrick on the backend, who has had a bounce-back year since leaving Pittsburgh, playing more in the nickel role and given more opportunities to disrupt plays by being near the ball. Despite missing T.J. Watt, here is my reason the Steelers will win this game to keep pace with the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North: resurrecting the run game, improving run defense, and getting to Tua in the cold. 0:00-13:21 Steelers vs Dolphins: Keys to the Game 13:22-35:23 Steelers vs Dolphins: Matchups to Watch 35:24-39:21 Game Predictions
Classic Steelers-Ravens
When Mike Tomlin's back is against the wall, his team always comes out with a victory. I wish it was like that every week, but this victory should not absolve him from the hot seat. This team still has plenty of holes, and like still being ran all over by the Ravens, who had over 200 total rushing yards. The good thing was Aaron Rodgers had a vintage Rodgers performance, DK Metcalf balled out after some lousy performances, and the defense did enough to make Baltimore settle for three instead of 7. Pittsburgh was aided by strong performances from Metcalf, Rodgers, great pass blocking, James Pierre, Brandon Echols, and Carson Bruener, while run offense and defense, and Joey Porter Jr.'s penalties left more to be desired. 0:00-21:45 Steelers vs Ravens takeaways 21:46-36:39 Winners and Losers
Your Average Steelers Loss
The Steelers yet again lost to an above-average QB, 31-28, as the team failed to put together a late-game drive to win despite apparent deficiencies on both sides of the ball. I was wrong in saying that Mason Rudolph should start this game in place of Aaron Rodgers due to his wrist injury. Rudolph struggled to find open receivers, made poor decisions with the ball, and took some sacks. The defense struggled to generate pressure and defend the middle of the field, and it appears to have an outdated scheme. There were few bright spots outside of the RB room, and T.J. Watt's forced fumble, but a lot of dull spots with MOF usage on both sides of the ball, Mason Rudolph, the pass rush, and Kyle Dugger. We'll see how Pittsburgh responds next week against the Bills. 0:00-22:50 Steelers vs. Bears: Analysis 22:51-36:03 Steelers vs. Bears: Winners and Losers
Break the 30 Year Drought?
On this episode of Steelers Central, I break down what the Steelers will need to do to get their first victory at Solider Field in 30 years. That must include causing some TO's, churning the run game against a banged up Bears linebacking core, and getting pressure on Caleb Williams. Next, it's time to talk about some big matchups within the game. As always, it starts on the edge position with TJ Watt and Nick Herbig going up against the Bears tackles. On the flip side, the Steelers must dominate a weak run stopping Bears interior. The Big Three in Frazier, McCormick, and Seamolu must have some solid afternoons. Lastly, each skill position group much win their favorable matchup against some banged up, and at times, poor-playing secondaries. I'll tell you why I think the Bears win this game in a close, 24-21 score, and whether the Steelers should rest Aaron Rodgers despite a 25-5 career record against the Bears. All coming up on Steelers Central. 0:00-11:20 Steelers vs Bears: Keys to the Game 11:21-34:30 Steelers vs Bears: Matchups to Watch 34:31-39:00 Steelers vs Bears: Game Prediction 39:01-47:36: Perc Rodgers or Maserati Mitch
Who are the Pittsburgh Steelers?
On this episode of Steelers Central, the actuality of who the Steelers are remains to be seen as the defense dominated and outscored the Bengals' offense in a 34-12 victory. After the teams scored on their first two drives, they did not score again until the Steelers scored a field goal right before halftime. We'll talk about some key takeaways, including whether the Steelers' defense is back, and who is the WR2? As always, winners and losers are coming out of this game, including the RB room, James Pierre, Nick Herbig, and Keeanu Benton, the passing offense, and Jonnu Smith. You can decide who is what. 0:00-21:55 Steelers vs Bengals Takeaways 21:56-38:53 Steelers vs Bengals: Winners and Losers
