The Burmese military has re-taken over the recent democratically installed country of Myanmar in a coup on February 1st. Since then, hundreds of thousands of protestors have taken to the streets to demand a return to civilian rule, and an end to military occupation. Myanmar (Burma) has a long history of military occupation and subsequent crackdowns. In this episode, I briefly explain the long history of events that led to this 2021 coup.

Despite quarantine restrictions on mass gatherings due to COVID-19, Filipinos are standing up against the passage of an Anti-Terror Bill they claim, that due to its wording, the government can easily violate the liberties of ordinary citizens by labeling them as terrorists. Muslims in India are hitting the streets to protest a controversial citizenship bill, the Citizenship Amendment Act. Many are worried that the increasingly Hindu nationalist government of Narendra Modi will strip them of citizenship, and thus, a voice in their own country. While others are fighting to protect their identity, freedom, and equality from increasing immigration.
