In this episode of Unmasking the Mic, Ralph Anthony sits down with New Jersey native and comedian, Elizabeth Lopez. They discuss the efficiency of having a mental health tag team of a therapist and a psychiatrist, and how someone else's life changing situation pushed Elizabeth to finally seek out help. She also schools Ralph on the theory of "HALT," which is an acronym for hungry, angry, lonely or tired. This thinking has allowed Elizabeth to explore her daily struggles and stressors to see if there is validity in them or if it's one of the HALT traits. They also talk about parenting and comedy as well as how to focus on just being positive in the present moment.

In this episode of Unmasking the Mic, Ralph Anthony sits down with New York City native and comedian, Josh Alba. They discuss how comedians in therapy are more mentally eqiupped to handle comedy in NYC as well as being the first person in his family to seek out a therapist. They also discuss how as comedians here in the city, we have a tendency to attach our self worth to how many shows we're doing or the clubs we're working in. Plus, Josh also lends some insight as breaking down stigmas and the devasting events from Hurricane Ida that brought him to seeking out therapy.

In this episode of Unmasking the Mic, Ralph Anthony sits down with the founder of the Bird City Comedy Festival and Phoenix based comedian, Genevieve Rice. They discuss how comedians in therapy do not think comedy is therapy but more an expression of relatable situations and how those emotionally charged issues sometimes prove to be the best comedy. They also talk about what brought  her to therapy in the first place and how Genevieve's team of therapists for specific experiences is an amazing foundation for her positive mental well being as well as how she shares a therapist with her husband. The pair also dig deep into how breaking the news about therapy to your parents is more difficult than it seems and to parent during a pandemic.
