Les mer We Love Our Heart

Heart Attacks are still the number 1 killer in the world today... 35% maybe asymptomatic...i.e. you are taken by surprise, no previous symptoms, as I was in 2018 when, as a fit triathlete in his 50s, I literally dropped dead (sudden cardiac arrest) in a competition. Since then I have learned so much from why did it happen to me, and how can I prevent it happening again - or at least lowering the risk.In this show I talk to many experts who have helped me on my journey to conquer heart disease and live a long life...

episode Mark Kaplan Episode 5 cover

Mark Kaplan Episode 5

Today on We Love Our Heart The Podcast I’m joined by Mark Kaplan — a former professional tennis player who was competing at an elite level… and still experienced a serious heart event. Now just think about that for a moment. This is someone who, lik eme,  was fitter than most people will ever be — and yet, something clearly wasn’t right under the surface. In this conversation, we unpack what happened, why the standard explanations didn’t add up, and what Mark discovered when he started asking deeper questions. We talk about cholesterol, medication, diet, and the assumptions many of us make about what ‘healthy’ really means. But more importantly, this episode is about the importance of finding a supportive community to help you break the standard of care medical paradyme and take back control. Because if there’s one thing that comes through very clearly here, it’s that we can’t just outsource our health and hope for the best. We need to understand it. We need to question it. And we need to take ownership of it. If you’ve ever thought, ‘I’m fit, I’m fine, this won’t happen to me’ — then this is an episode you really should listen to. And do stay to the end where wwe talk about the launch of Mark’s new heart health platform – Health Truth – building something to help understand your metabolic markers and take real action. Let’s get into it. For info on We Love Our Heart: https://www.weloveourheart.com [https://www.weloveourheart.com] Worried for yourself or someone in your family? We Love Our Heart The Podcast Episode 4

Hi there and welcome to another Episode of We Love Our Heart the podcast – today we are talking to my friend Hans from the Netherlands.  I first met Hans through fascination with water when I spotted a flask of water with a vortex swirling around it…love at first sight for me (vortexes are so my thing…) and I chased down the European distributor… which was Hans.   We have been on a journey together sharing many things stating with our fascination with water and moving to sound healing and fascia healing…   He also gave me my favourite affirmation sentence to start each day:   I am so grateful that abundance comes to me easily and effortlessly on a continuous and daily basis.. find out more about Hans by visiting here: https://dragonflywatersolutions.com [https://dragonflywatersolutions.com] * #WeLoveOurHeart * #HeartHealthMatters * #MetabolicHealth * #HeartRecovery * #CardiovascularHealth * #PreventHeartDisease * #HealthyHeartLife * #FasciaTraining * #HumanGarage

Dr Stephen Hussey Episode 3

In Episode 3 we have a fascinating half hour with Dr Stephen Hussey where we talk about, amongst other things, • What Really Causes Heart Disease? Not just cholesterol or plaque buildup as traditionally taught. Dr. Hussey challenges conventional views, focusing on biophysical/environmental factors (light, water, stress, circadian rhythm) over purely biochemical ones. He helps people gain an empowered, root-cause understanding. • Sunlight & Vitamin D – Beyond Just the Vitamin Sunlight exposure is powerful for cardiovascular health. It's not only about producing Vitamin D – sunlight creates structured water (via near-infrared light), boosts melatonin production in the pineal gland, and supports endothelial (artery lining) health. • Melatonin & Near-Infrared Light Sunlight (especially infrared) triggers melatonin production – hugely beneficial for arteries and overall regeneration. Early 1900s: Hardly any heart disease. 1950s+: Fluorescent lights disrupted natural rhythms → rising disease. 1980s+: Stents/angioplasty saved lives short-term but didn't address roots. Circadian rhythm disruption links directly to heart disease in recent decades. • Dental Health's Surprising Role Poor dental hygiene (bleeding gums, root canals, mercury fillings) plays a big part – kills bacteria → endotoxins, electrical/charge disruption in the body, bacteria entering bloodstream. Bleeding gums = red flag; root canals = potentially dangerous. • Structured Water – The "4th Phase" Game-Changer Water in the body isn't just liquid – it has a structured/exclusion zone (EZ)/gel-like state (like Gerald Pollack's research). Unique properties: Stores energy/electrons like a battery (holds charge for cellular work, ATP isn't the only energy source – structured water stores it too). Episode 2 Zoe Harcombe

NUTRITION, FOOD POLITICS & THE VEGAN DEBATE WITH DR ZOË HARCOMBE In this episode we speak with Dr Zoë Harcombe, a Cambridge-educated researcher known for her critical analysis of mainstream nutrition advice. Zoë originally studied mathematics at Cambridge, but her path shifted toward nutrition after a family member developed diabetes. That personal experience sparked a deep interest in diet, health, and the evidence behind modern dietary guidelines. Today she is widely known for analysing academic nutrition research, challenging prevailing dietary narratives, and publishing regular research commentary such as her well-known “Monday Note.” In this conversation we explore vegan, vegetarian and omnivorous diets, nutrient density, and the role of traditional foods in human health. ---------------------------------------- KEY TOPICS WE DISCUSS ZOË’S JOURNEY INTO NUTRITION * Originally trained in mathematics at Cambridge * Interest in nutrition began after her brother developed diabetes * Became concerned about the influence of large food and pharmaceutical companies on dietary advice * Now focuses on analysing nutrition research and communicating her findings to the public. Please don't forget to do the thing - like and subscribe! You can find more from Zoe here: https://www.zoeharcombe.com [https://www.zoeharcombe.com] and more about me and We Love Our Heart here: https://www.weloveourheart.com [https://www.weloveourheart.com] Thank you.

episode Heart Disease Isn’t What You Think – Dr Sarah Myhill Explains Why cover

Heart Disease Isn’t What You Think – Dr Sarah Myhill Explains Why

In this episode of We Love Our Heart, I sit down with the brilliant Dr Sarah Myhill, one of the UK’s most respected naturopathic doctors, to explore the real causes of heart disease. And in just 30 minutes, she managed to compress what normally takes two full lectures into an eye-opening masterclass. Her core message challenges the conventional narrative: heart disease is primarily a vascular problem, not simply a cholesterol problem. According to Dr Myhill, the key issues lie in the quality and behaviour of the blood itself — including: • “Sticky” blood • High blood pressure • Turbulent blood flow These factors increase friction inside arteries, damaging vessel walls and contributing to clotting and cardiovascular events. We also dive into the metabolic side of heart disease. Dr Myhill argues that excess sugar — not insulin itself — is a major driver of metabolic dysfunction, leading to inflammation and vascular damage. She also questions the long-standing belief in carbohydrate loading, suggesting that ketones (fat-derived fuel) may be a cleaner and more efficient energy source for the body. Beyond diet, she reminds us that the true foundations of health are often the simplest: • Sleep – the body’s primary healing mechanism • Hydration – essential for circulation • Heat and movement – improving blood flow We also discuss key nutrients that support metabolic and vascular health, including magnesium, vitamin D, MSM and vitamin K. The big takeaway? Heart disease isn’t just a problem of the heart — it’s a systemic issue involving metabolism, blood flow, inflammation and lifestyle. This conversation was packed with insights and genuinely left me thinking: Why aren’t we talking about these things more often?
