Are Americans okay with slave labor? If so, why?
Working in Houston, Texas as a general contractor is difficult but no as tricky as working for peanuts. Yes, I said peanuts, and in some cases, it's bread crumbs. Surprisingly, what I found out through my experiences is that most Americans support slave labor in some form, shape, or fashion. Whether it is helping companies that are using human trafficking to get workers here to work on a project that they are being paid to complete at a meager cost, having a company cut their lawns, hire a handyman work for less than the market rate, or not hiring a company that pays its employees a proper livable wage for the amount of work they are required to do. Our society likes to paint a pretty picture of people flying over or crossing the border illegally to live off the backs of hard-working Americans. Some of us label these people as vultures who take advantage of a system built to help people in need. This couldn't be further from the truth. What if I reveal to you that they are great human beings looking for a chance to live a better life. Most American companies know this and take advantage of desperate people in desperate situations. These big companies want you to believe that illegal immigrants are the ones who are taking advantage of a system. Many Americans think that having contractors compete for a project they need to complete is the American way or that capitalism helps the customer to decide which company is successful or is forced to close its doors. What if I broke it down to show you that these multi-million dollar companies intentionally feed middle-class Americans misinformation because they don't want to pay you a livable wage. They never cared about you or your family, and their goals are to make ungodly amounts of money by hiring skilled or unskilled immigrant workers to stagnate wages. Their main goal is to keep this gravy train running until they can automate all positions requiring a human with a computer or a machine. For years they have been fooling you into believing that no one wants to do these jobs, that Americans are lazy, illegal immigrants are taking your job, and getting you to participate in their demonic system so you won't complain because there is blood on your hands also. In this episode, we will introduce the idea that corporations are intentionally pushing for illegal immigrants and naturalized immigrants into the job market to keep you and your family from demanding a fair, livable wage.
