episode 1. The Wisdom of Wisdom (Proverbs 1:1-7) cover

1. The Wisdom of Wisdom (Proverbs 1:1-7)

Episode Summary Wisdom helps us learn how to live well in the world that God has created, but we need to be careful we don't observe the creation apart from a right relationship with the Creator. What's more, the gospel actually supercharges our search for wisdom by showing us the path to the best life there is: a life which continues in Christ forever. Read the Bible passage here: Proverbs 1:1-7 [https://www.bible.com/bible/111/Pro.1.NIV] Series Summary This message was preached on 24 April 2022 as part of a Bible teaching series on the Old Testament book of Ecclesiastes, written by King Solomon. We're usually familiar with the Bible's stories and rules, but what about the category of 'wisdom'? Wisdom was an important pursuit of the Bible writers, as they sought to live well, under God, in the light of what he has revealed. Ecclesiastes is a wisdom book, and teaches us the wisdom of how to find meaning and purpose in an often confusing world. The answers might not be all we want, but they're all we need. episode 8. Lukewarm (Revelation 3:14-22) cover

8. Lukewarm (Revelation 3:14-22)

Episode Summary In the church at Laodicaea, total dependance on the Lord Jesus Christ has been supplanted in favour of lukewarmness—neither being hot nor cold. It's this condition which nauseates the Lord of the church, so much so that he wants to spit them out of his mouth. To return to a state of burning bright, the centrality of the Lord Jesus in the life of the church, and the lives of individual believers, needs to be reclaimed. This final letter to the churches leaves us with the searching question, 'What's your temperature when it comes to Jesus?' Read the Bible passage here: Revelation 3:14-22 [https://www.bible.com/bible/111/REV.3.NIV] Series Summary This message was preached on 19 March 2017 as part of a Bible teaching series on the first three chapters of the book of Revelation in the New Testament, especially the letters to the seven churches in the province of Asia Minor. episode 7. The Open Door (Revelation 3:7-13) cover

7. The Open Door (Revelation 3:7-13)

Episode Summary Jesus’ work in the church at Philadelphia teaches us something very important, that a struggling church may yet have great opportunities for the gospel. But there testimony also reminds us of another, equally important truth—that we must be careful what you trust to make you part of God’s family, because only Jesus himself is the open doorway into God’s royal household. episode 6. Dead Church Walking (Revelation 3:1-6) cover

6. Dead Church Walking (Revelation 3:1-6)

Episode Summary The world looks at the church in Sardis and sees a living church. Jesus looks at the church at Sardis and sees a dead church. What killed it? And why is its 'life' an illusion? Of course, all hope is not yet lost – there are still a few who can make a difference, if only they would wake up. Read the Bible passage here: Revelation 3:1-6 [https://www.bible.com/bible/111/REV.3.NIV] Series Summary This message was preached on 5 March 2017 as part of a Bible teaching series on the first three chapters of the book of Revelation in the New Testament, especially the letters to the seven churches in the province of Asia Minor. episode 5. Tolerating Jezebel (Revelation 2:18-29) cover

5. Tolerating Jezebel (Revelation 2:18-29)

Episode Summary The church at Thyatira represents something of a paradox: a church that is keeping on for Jesus and commended by him on the one hand, while on the other hand is tolerating the kind of behaviour that wouldn’t please Jesus at all. It reminds us of the danger a seemingly ‘healthy’ church can have when we begin to tolerate the kind of behaviour that is more like the world than the kingdom of Heaven. Read the Bible passage here: Revelation 2:18-29 [https://www.bible.com/bible/111/REV.2.NIV] Series Summary This message was preached on 26 February 2017 as part of a Bible teaching series on the first three chapters of the book of Revelation in the New Testament, especially the letter to the seven churches in the province of Asia Minor. Liker at det er både Podcaster (godt utvalg) og lydbøker i samme app, pluss at man kan holde Podcaster og lydbøker atskilt i biblioteket.
