32 episodesIn this episode, Jenny and Becky start the conversation towards being the change, speaking up for Black Lives Matter, understanding our own privileges, and how it is time for us to listen and to learn. It is hard to know what to say when you always fear saying the wrong thing, but not saying anything at all is not an option we choose right now. Listen and learn, listen and unlearn, and listen and learn some more, and of course, LOVE.
This week we are talking about how we are going through the different stages of quarantine: from learning more about how our kids work and think differently, to wanting to be of service, to guilt for our privilege, and to how we bring the outdoors in to help maintain a sense of feeling grounded through all this. No matter what stage you are in right now, we always try to remember that we are all in this together and we are all connected.
In this episode (compiled of three different conversations), we speak about how we have been dealing with and feeling about the Covid 19 Virus outbreak from a mom's perspective. From exercising our creative muscles with our family, to homeschooling, collective grief, overwhelming gratitude, and taking this day by day. It is difficult to put any of this into words! Thats why it took us 3 times! We think the most important thing we can all do is talk about it. You are not alone. We’ve got you, we’ve got this!
Jenny and Becky sit down this week and have an emotional conversation about the difficulty of watching your children suffer through physical and emotional pain. It's so hard to see them suffer when a quick kiss won't make it all better and you know they have to be the ones to put in the work and time themselves to get through the rough parts. How do we stay grounded through this all when it's so hard?
We are diving into a discussion about sitting with our ourselves whether it’s our emotions of sadness, anger, or joy or we are just working on simply being still and with ourselves. We often focus on finding happiness, dismissing sadness as weakness or trying to "fix" it. But what if we just sat with our emotions for a bit? If we get stuck in an emotion, we can all find ways to help us move through it, whether it’s Earthing, horse dancing, jumping into freezing cold water, hibernating, or meditating.
