22 - VUL: What you need to know?

After discussing the Buy Term Invest the Difference system a couple of episodes ago, we dive into its counterpart which is the VUL (Variable Universal Life/Variable Unit-Linked). In this episode we get into some of the most common questions surrounding the VUL product and also provide some insights on who is best suited for this type of product. Again, there is really no one size fits all solution and we should stop going into the BTID versus VUL "debate" as we see both are viable system/product. 20 - Buy Term Invest the Difference (BTID)

One of the more controversial topics in personal finance is the BTID vs. VUL debate. Which one is better? In this episode we dissect the BTID system and how it can work to your advantage or to your disadvantage. We'll do this without pulling down the VUL product since both will definitely have pros and cons depending on your preference. We discuss what is BTID, who is this suited for, what to consider when using this system and how to maybe use this system based on our personal preferences. The only reason why this debate has always been controversial is because believers of the BTID system feels that theirs is the only system that's effective and there is this need to be right in this debate. The same goes for VUL believers. For us, there is not one system that is perfect - we just have to find what's the right system for ourselves without envying what others are doing.
