The King has chosen us for service as stewards over all of his dominion, yet the road to high office is marked not by glory but by suffering. The way up is the way down. Along this cruciform way, God shapes us–to wait on him, to hear him, and to be faithful to him. And through this molding, God prepares us to be his vice-regents, offering God’s life, welcome, and reconciliation to the world.
