Portada del episodio Kae R. Nelson: A Woman Named Dale

Kae R. Nelson: A Woman Named Dale

Kae R. Nelson joins Quilltips for this episode of the 3 Questions For Authors podcast to discuss her debut novel, A Woman Named Dale: In the Shadows of Grace! Kae R. Nelson is an American author whose work explores identity, faith, love, and self-discovery through emotionally grounded, character-driven storytelling. A Woman Named Dale is an epistolary debut set in motion when eighteen-year-old Dale flees small-town Alabama in 2019 with $3,200 and a broken heart. Told through diary entries, unsent letters, and documents that reveal multiple perspectives, it's a story about family healing, chosen community, and the courage to live authentically — one that asks readers to decide for themselves what compassion, forgiveness, and love look like when things get complicated. Content Note: Contains themes of family rejection, religious trauma, transgender discrimination, molestation, grief, and physical/emotional abuse within a story that ultimately celebrates healing and hope.
