888-6-LEJEUNE IS The New York Camp Lejeune Toxic Water Legal Injury Claims Hotline   New York Camp Lejeune Toxic Water Claims - A Legal Resource Guide Before we begin, if you or a loved one has been injured and you or they were stationed at Camp Lejeune for more than 30 consecutive days between ’53 and ’87, you should call us and speak to an attorney immediately who can help you figure out if you have legitimate claims and can help you file those claims. Time is of the essence and there are only a couple of years for people to begin this process. Because time is of the essence, if you think you or a loved one has a claim, call 888-6LEJUNE to speak with New York Attorney who Specializes in Camp Lejeune Toxic Water Claims and who can help you moving forward with this process. The New York Camp Lejeune Claims Hotline Number is 888-6LEJUNE About the Camp Lejeune Water Contamination Lawsuit The drinking water at a particular United States Marine Corps (USMC) Base Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC, was contaminated with toxic volatile organic compounds (VOCs) which were hundreds of times higher than what is safe for human consumption, including: Trichlorethylene (TCE) – this solvent is used to clean metal parts, and is classified as a cancer causing chemical. Tetrachloroethylene (aka perchloroethylene (BCE)): For dry cleaning and degreasing of metals. Vinyl chloride (VC) – over time, TCE and PCE in the groundwater degrade and become VC. Benzene: a chemical that is often used to other chemicals that compose plastics, resins, and nylon and synthetic fibers. Benzene, TCE, and VC are all classified as cancer-causing chemicals, while PCE is classified as probably carcinogenic. Exposure to these chemicals can also increase the risk of birth defects and other health problems. In June of 2022, the Camp Lejeune Justice Act of 2021 was passed, which was part of the more broad “Honoring our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act.
