Ryan Aussie Smith and I celebrate the release of Space & Time issue 151, the magazine’s shiny new online home and all the back issues becoming available at authortunitiespress.com [https://authortunitiespress.com/]. Then we share our thoughts one the stories and poems we are sharing this week: “And Then We Died” by J.D. Strunk, “Taped Shut” by Isha Jain, “I Am Any Thing” by M. Next week we will be sharing “Pony” by A.J. Parker, “The Ego Auditorium” by Kelly Murashige, “Deep Space” by Dean Schreck and “The Burial” by Frederick Stansfield. That’s all for now. Signals Across the Dark · Reading Issue 151

This week Ryan Aussie Smith and I overcome the workman drilling in the hall to discuss two stories from the upcoming Space & Time issue 151 to be released any minute now. First we share the shiny, brand-spanking-new Authortunities Press online home at authortunitiespress.com [https://authortunitiespress.com/], sing the praises of direct sales platform Payhip [affiliate link] and share info about the new contributor’s discount that will be available with this issue. Then we dip into our two stories to share this week: “The Last Beacon of Shattered Light” by Debra Tillar and “Of Unknown Colossi” by Chris Nelson. Hear why we chose them, why we love them and get some inside POV of what goes on in a selecting editor’s brain. Next week we will be sharing “And Then We Died” by J.D. Strunk and “Taped Shut” by Isha Jain. That’s all for now. We will be back next week. Until then, thank you for reading Space & Time. This is a public episode. Every Story & Poem in 150

In this episode of the Space and Time Magazine podcast, Ryan Aussie Smith and Angela Yuriko Smith return to the original purpose of the show: spotlighting the fiction and poetry published in Space and Time. They explain that future episodes will focus more deeply on one story and one poem per issue, but this episode offers a rapid tour through the stories and poems in Issue 150, themed around “Rest is Resistance.” Together they frame the issue as a celebration of contributors whose work explores rest, silence, stillness, refusal, dreams, and endurance as forms of rebellion. They discuss each piece briefly, sharing what stood out to them and highlighting a favorite line from each work. The episode moves between speculative fiction, poetry, experimental forms, dystopian settings, and philosophical reflections on productivity, time, silence, and survival. By the end, Angela and Ryan position Issue 150 as both a literary showcase and a thematic meditation on exhaustion, survival, and creative resistance. They close by noting that the podcast will continue with deeper weekly conversations about individual stories and poems, giving each piece more room for discussion and honoring the writers whose work appears in the magazine. You can find (and share) the paperback and ebook editions here [https://authortunitiespress.com/b/O0xDE]. This is a public episode.
