Acerca de Erotic Review

The Erotic Review podcast explore's desire through art, essays, short stories and poetry. Our erotic lives can direct our entire existence, yet so much of our experience and longing is left unspoken. Our desires have been repressed and punished and directed throughout history, celebrated, objectified or hidden. The object of our desire can obsess us, drive us to despair or compel us; often they are the imagined centre of a more satisfying existence. And at the core of our desire is the hope for transcendence, almost religious in its fervour, if only ever fleeting. We believe that although desire is intensely personal, it can connect us to our common humanity.Listen to the authors reading their original work from the biannual literary and art journal, relaunched in print in 2024. This podcast series was produced and mixed by Emma Colman and the music was composed by Will Johnstone.Join the Erotic Review at , subscribe to the biannual magazine in print and sign up for the monthly newsletter for exclusive interviews, forthcoming events and community recommendations.

When I miss America, I look at r/gooncaves by Rebecca Rukeyser

Rebecca Rukeyser explores the subreddit world of gooncaves as a way of understanding the “heady American cycle of extremity and shame – glutting and then repenting.” Who are these gooners and where are their caves? How does gooning celebrate porn? What does it say about America and the craving for transcendence? Rebecca is the author of the novel The Seaplane in Final Approach. This particular subreddit has since been taken down due to some of the members including material that was contrary to reddit’s T&Cs. The author and Erotic Review Publishing Ltd does not condone any alleged offensive or illegal activities taking place on this subreddit – 9/6/24. This podcast was produced and mixed by Emma Colman and the music was composed by Will Johnstone.
