THE LINE // Whose Kingdom? | Jarrod Cochran

Whose kingdom are you really building? In Luke 9, the disciples witness the glory of Christ, then immediately argue about who is the greatest. Their pride exposes a truth we all must face: it's possible to be close to Jesus while still building our own kingdom. Jesus responds by placing a child at the center and redefining greatness forever. In God's Kingdom, the way up is down. The greatest are those who serve, not those who seek recognition. This message challenges us to stop chasing influence, protecting our position, and building our platform. The Kingdom of God advances through humility, sacrifice, and love for the overlooked. The question isn't whether you're building a kingdom. It's whose kingdom you're building.

In Luke 9:37–42, the disciples come down from the mountaintop after seeing Jesus transfigured in glory, only to discover that the disciples couldn't cast out a demon they once had authority over. Why? Revelation without dependence produces powerless Christianity. This message challenges us to stop collecting sermons, Bible studies, and spiritual knowledge while neglecting obedience and prayer. Jesus didn't call us to admire Him from a distance — He called us to trust Him completely. The same Christ who delivered a broken boy and restored him to his father still has the power to set captives free today. The question isn't how much you know about Jesus. It's how much you're relying on Him.

Before Gideon could defeat the enemy around him, he had to confront the compromise within his own house. In Judges 6, God finds Gideon hiding in fear—but calls him a mighty warrior anyway. The real battle wasn’t Midian. It was the idols Israel had welcomed into their homes and hearts. This message exposes a dangerous cycle: comfort leads to compromise, compromise leads to bondage. Before God brings victory, He often calls us to tear down the altars we've tolerated. You don’t have to feel fearless to be faithful. God isn’t looking for confidence in yourself; He’s looking for obedience to Him. One act of courage can spark revival in an entire generation.
