Episode 12: ‘Trust The Process’ (an interview with Nic Parsons)

Welcome to Episode 12 in which I interview Nic Parsons, an artist and arts & health practitioner, who also happens to be my lovely sister. Here’s a bit more about her: Nic has an MA in Arts, Health & Well-being and is a qualified F.E tutor.  She began her career as a scenic artist working for Welsh National Opera on theatre and opera sets that were shared across the globe.  She has worked within the community on a wide variety of funded projects as an arts tutor and arts development officer, bringing together a variety of creatives to work on exciting and innovative workshops and exhibitions, with an aim to supporting well-being and providing a platform for community members to showcase their artwork to a broader audience.   In her own practice she embraces nature as her muse.  Exploring natural forms and colour palettes through a variety of mediums such as illustration, paint and textiles.   https://www.instagram.com/nicparsonsart [https://www.instagram.com/nicparsonsart] https://nicparsonsart.wixsite.com/website [https://nicparsonsart.wixsite.com/website] About Helen Jane Campbell: Helen is a coach for creative people and the author of the book Founders, Freelancers & Rebels. Episode 11: ‘Dance Alchemist’ (an interview with Anna-Lisa Drew)

Welcome to Episode 11, in which I talk with Ecstatic Dance Brighton founder, Anna-Lisa Drew. I love ecstatic dance and I’ve enjoyed many of her events, both indoors and outside in nature. Here’s a bit more about her: Raised between the wilds of West Africa and the mystical lands of Avalon, Anna-Lisa creates transformative spaces for expression, empowerment, and play through Ecstatic Dance. Blending deep, primal bass with sensual flow and electrifying drops, her carefully crafted journeys invite expansion, wild abandon, and soulful stillness.  Founder of Ecstatic Dance Brighton and co-founder of Avalon Dance Odyssey, she is a driving force in the conscious dance scene. Her work spans Ecstatic Dance UK, Bristol, Bath, Cardiff, Samsara Retreat, and major festivals like Wilderness, Boomtown, and Buddhafields. With a background in Taoist movement, well-being, and art therapy, she holds space for profound transformation through the power of dance.  www.annalisadrew.co.uk [http://www.annalisadrew.co.uk/] www.ecstaticdancebrighton.co.uk [http://www.ecstaticdancebrighton.co.uk/]  www.avalondanceodyssey.com [http://www.avalondanceodyssey.com/]  This episode is kindly supported by Westminster Insurance.  Did you know they cover more than 700 professions, including creatives! Episode 10: ‘Last Night I Dreamt I Was Julie Andrews’ (an interview with Clayton Littlewood)

Welcome to episode ten, in which I’m reunited with a dear friend, author Clayton Littlewood. In 2008 blogger, newspaper columnist, clothes store owner and Soho scene veteran Clayton Littlewood released his first book: 'Dirty White Boy: Tales of Soho'. The book, which began life as a blog with a cult following that later became a popular column in The London Paper, was based on Clayton's experiences running the Dirty White Boy clothes store with his partner in Soho's Old Compton Street.   'Dirty White Boy: Tales of Soho' captured a memorable moment in Soho's history and found humor and affection for the sex workers, street cleaners, trans people, bag ladies and shoplifters that Clayton encountered on one of the most colorful street corners in the world.   Reviewers compared the book to the diaries of Samuel Pepys, Virginia Woolf and Christopher Isherwood's Berlin Stories. In 2009 it was named Gay Times Book of the Year and was endorsed by celebrities such as Elton John and Stephen Fry.    In 2009 Clayton turned the book into a play. It premiered at the Trafalgar Studios in London's West End and starred Clayton and the actor David Benson. It sold out. The play returned a year later for an extended run. The sequel to 'Dirty White Boy' called 'Goodbye to Soho' was published in 2012. He's just finished his next book.  Discover Clayton’s books: https://www.amazon.co.uk/stores/Clayton-Littlewood/author/B001JRUSEG [https://www.amazon.co.uk/stores/Clayton-Littlewood/author/B001JRUSEG?ref=sr_ntt_srch_lnk_2&qid=1757085892&sr=8-2&isDramIntegrated=true&shoppingPortalEnabled=true] This episode is sponsored by Structured Mediation Nobody sets out to be in dispute with clients or suppliers, and mediation can help you avoid legal action – even restoring trust. Episode 8: ‘Why Can't We Have All These Bold Colours?’ (an interview with Jylle Navarro)

Welcome to episode eight, in which I interview the delightfully creative Jylle Navarro. Jylle Navarro is the creator of Neon Naked Life Drawing, an immersive UV life drawing experience blending creativity, colour, and performance. What began nearly a decade ago in a café in Dalston has grown into a full-time venture with weekly classes across 10+ venues in London — and plans to expand across the UK. With a background in fashion and an MA in Art & Science from Central Saint Martins, Jylle combines experimental styling, body painting, and performance art to challenge traditional approaches to life drawing. Each class is a vibrant, inclusive space that encourages creative freedom and self-expression. https://www.neonnaked.com/ [https://www.neonnaked.com/] This episode is sponsored by Structured Mediation Nobody sets out to be in dispute with clients or suppliers, and mediation can help you avoid legal action – even restoring trust.
