Acerca de Grandpa Hill's True Stories

Grandpa Hill’s Stories are told by Grandpa Hill, usually with a live audience of one or more of his twenty two grand children. Each story is based on his memory of what truly happened to him. Marshmallow and his friend Gorf, often review the story from their perspectives as a raccoon and a frog. They hope that by them talking about the story it will help the listeners, young and old, to talk to each other about their thoughts and experiences. Lessons are learned, as we laugh (or cry) and listen to Grandpa Hill’s stories.

Animal Brakes - Slightly Wiser Stories

It is almost June, and with it comes "dumb deer" season. What do you do when there is a deer in your head lights? A dog? A turkey hen and ten little chicks? In this Slightly Wiser Story, Grandpa Hill tells the story of 3 encounters with animals on the road that have shaped how he approaches braking for animals. Before swerving or breaking Grandpa Hill first checks his mirrors and accesses the situation. Then, he takes action to keep his family, himself, and his car safe, before he tries to avoid hitting the animal. Well... most of the time anyway. As with many of Grandpa Hill's Slightly Wiser Stories, Grandpa doesn't always do everything right, but he always learns from his mistakes. We hope this story will help you to think precisely and live wisely when you next encounter a deer, dog, or turkey on the road. Produced by David Richman Executively Produced by Grandpa Hill Grandchildren in Audience: Leah, Anna, Miriam, Raymond, and Naomi, and also their mother, Patricia.

Peanuts - Slightly Wiser Stories

Grandpa used to be a cadet in the United States Air Force Academy. While at the Academy his life took a totally different direction due in large part to circus peanuts and how Grandpa dealt immaturely with his immature room mate's disgust with Grandpa having eaten some of his circus peanuts. At the time it was a disaster. His room mate that could have been his best witness had become an enemy. Grandpa was found guilty of an honor code violation. For a brief time it looked like Don (Grandpa Hill) would just disappear from all contact with family and friends. Then as the situation improved and improved and improved Grandpa got married to Mary Lee Mack. They had a large family. Now they have twenty five grandchildren. Grandpa wants you to share this story. Be grateful for the chances you have to improve. Grandpa has and still is thinking, laughing, and living life abundantly and encourages you to do the same. Produced by David Richman. Story told by Grandpa Hill. Art by David Richman. Banjo music by Michael Steele. Grandchildren in the audience Anna Richman, Annette Steele, Breandan Steele, Miriam Richman, and Eoghan Steele.

Portada del episodio Winter Sailing In The Yard

Winter Sailing In The Yard

Way back in 1967, Grandpa was a 9 year old boy in Rochester Michigan. That winter Grandpa went sailing. He made the sail for his red Radio Flyer, and it was better than his brother Eugene’s. The sailing was fast on that windy day on the icy yard. Grandpa’s speed, his fun, and the use of Mom’s new pillowcases got his mother very "excited." Semloh, a wise frog that knows many things, including Grandpa, explains what happened that day. He explains to his friend Gorf (also a frog) and Marshmallow a Racoon, exactly why Grandpa made restitution and why it did not hurt Grandpa to do so. We hope Semloh’s message and Grandpa’s True Story is shared and shared and shared so that children everywhere and their parents will think, laugh and live abundantly.
