Acerca de Hey Georgie - One Frame At A Time

Real stories. Honest chats. Stuff that actually matters. I’m Pete George, an Australian photographer and storyteller. Hey Georgie is where we talk creativity, resilience, and paying attention, not just through the camera but in life. No gear talk or chasing the latest fad here. It’s about what catches our eye, what sticks with us, and why we keep showing up, even when no one’s clapping. Sometimes I get personal. Other times, I bring on folks who’ve been through their stuff. But it’s always real, reflective, and all about connection. No fluff. No ego. Just curiosity, purpose, and the occasional dose of black and white truth.

Less is More: The Forgotten Art of Intentional Photography

Send us a text [https://www.buzzsprout.com/twilio/text_messages/2509393/open_sms] Shooting an entire wedding with just 360 film photos made me a better photographer than taking thousands of digital images ever could. This limitation forced me to be present, trust my eye, and shoot with purpose rather than panic. • Film photography required intentionality—every frame had weight, every click had a cost • Out of 360 frames, I'd typically lose only 30-40 shots and deliver 80-100 final images • Digital freedom became a trap—shooting 3,000 images but still only delivering 100 keepers • The editing process became overwhelming and mentally draining • Eventually returned to the film mindset while using digital equipment • Shooting with purpose rather than volume creates clarity and connection for clients • Limited frames make you pay attention and create something that lasts If this episode resonated with you, please share it with a photographer who might need to hear it. Connect with me at heygeorgie.com.au or on social media. Until next time, shoot with purpose and share with heart. Support the show [https://buymeacoffee.com/petergeorge]

Meet Georgie: More Than a Lens, More Than a Story

Send us a text [https://www.buzzsprout.com/twilio/text_messages/2509393/open_sms] In this episode, Pete George—better known to some as Georgie—opens the door to where this all began. At 59, he’s starting again. But not from scratch. From experience. This is a raw, honest reflection on the years behind the camera, the battles most people never see, and the reason he’s finally going all in on storytelling through Peter George Media. It’s not just about photography. It’s about reinvention. Mental illness. Holding on to your spark when the world goes quiet. If you’ve ever wondered how to start over—or if your story’s still worth telling—this one’s for you. In this episode, I open up about more than just photography. This is where it started — not with a business plan, but with a bloke holding a camera, trying to make sense of the world. For me, photography’s never just been a job. It’s been the thing that’s kept me going. A lifeline during some of the darkest seasons of my life — especially the ones I didn’t talk about for years. I get real about living with mental illness, and how pressing the shutter helped me hold onto something when everything else felt too heavy. This episode isn’t polished or perfect — it’s honest. Just like the work I try to create. I talk about where I’ve been, but also where I’m heading — the shift from being just a photographer to becoming a storyteller. Pete George Media isn’t just a name on a screen. It’s the space I’ve built to share stories that matter — the quiet ones, the messy ones, the ones that don’t always get heard. This podcast is part of that. It’s not about fame or likes. It’s about connection. It’s about showing up — even when it’s hard. Especially when it’s hard. If you’ve ever felt like you were starting over… or wondering if what you do still matters — this one’s for you. Hey Georgie… What’s It All About?

Send us a text [https://www.buzzsprout.com/twilio/text_messages/2509393/open_sms] This isn’t just another podcast about photography, and it’s not about chasing trends. In this opening episode of Hey Georgie – Conversations Through the Lens and Life, Georgie sets the tone for what’s to come: honest stories, personal moments, and the kind of conversations that don’t always make it to the surface. He shares how photography helped him see the world differently — and how life behind the lens became a lifeline through mental illness, silence, and the seasons of uncertainty. With raw reflections and deep gratitude for the quiet strength of his wife, Jane, Georgie opens a space where moments matter — especially the quiet ones. If you’re ready for real conversations, framed through life and light, this is where it begins. Picture this: you're cruising down the highway, the wind in your hair, and suddenly, a song comes on that transports you back to your glory days. That's the vibe Georgie nails in this episode, where he dives into the nostalgia that music brings. He reminisces about those carefree moments of youth, where life felt like an endless summer. With vivid imagery, he paints a picture of 17-year-olds with the windows down, soaking up the sun, and not a care in the world. Georgie takes this trip down memory lane and connects it to the journeys we all experience, emphasizing that while he loves photography, it’s the stories and the human experiences that truly matter. He’s not just about capturing the perfect shot; he’s all about the moments that make life rich and meaningful. Through his relaxed storytelling, he invites listeners to reflect on their own lives and the memories that shape them, creating a warm sense of community and shared experience. But wait, there’s more! Georgie isn’t just sitting back and sharing his tales. He opens the floor to genuine conversations with everyday people who have something meaningful to share. Forget about celebrities and their polished lives; Georgie welcomes guests who bring realness to the table. Whether it’s a heartwarming story or a tough lesson learned, these chats are all about authenticity. Georgie believes that everyone has a unique story, and when we share those stories, we create a tapestry of shared humanity. He encourages listeners to tune in, not just to learn about photography, but to engage with the deeper themes of creativity, connection, and the beauty of life’s journey. So, if you’re into heartfelt stories and down-to-earth discussions, this podcast is where it’s at! As the episode wraps up, Georgie reminds his audience that photography is just a piece of the puzzle. We all see the world through our lens, and that’s what makes us unique. It’s not about perfection; it’s about perspective. He playfully warns against those who claim to be pros while shooting in auto mode, adding a sprinkle of humour to keep things light. The core message rings clear: when we share what we see, we invite others into our world, and that’s where the magic happens. So buckle up and get ready for a ride filled with laughter, insights, and a whole lot of heart as Georgie takes you on a journey through life, one story at a time.
