Welcome back to another episode of MOO BOU’s Fashion Unplugged. This week we are bringing the high street to the podcast...we’ll be talking about changing room dilemmas, the items you need in your wardrobe and shopping in store vs online. And to help with this we have our very special guests from the MOO BOU shop Michelle and Tina! Michelle is a mum to her beautiful boys and her love for vintage clothes is a way of life. Inspired by Grease at a young age she found her unique individual style and is always inspiring the MOO BOU customers with her outfits. Tina is a creative, with a background in card designs she now loves to create beautiful artwork specialising in portraits all of which can be found on her Instagram at @pookies_treasures [https://instagram.com/pookies_treasures?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=] Michelle and Tina tell us about the community that surrounds the MOO BOU shop, building trust and relationships with customers as they offer their expert styling knowledge. They chat about heart-warming encounters and funny stories that show just how important it is to have the face-to-face interactions at the shop. Imparting their wisdom on styling body shapes, sharing the key pieces from MOO BOU that everyone loves and helping you get the most out of your wardrobe by restyling the items you love. With a new and improved MOO BOU shop opening on 14th February, they share how this space is great for showcasing the clothes and a perfect setting for style parties.  They can’t wait to be back in the shop and to see all of you there!   Links: Visit the MOO BOU shop [https://moobou.co.uk/pages/visit] MOO BOU Capsule Collection [https://moobou.co.uk/collections/the-capsule-collection] Magic Pants [https://moobou.co.uk/collections/the-capsule-collection/products/magic-pants-new-colours] Nine Perfect Strangers [https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nine-Perfect-Strangers-Season-1/dp/B09C2MBJQ2]

Boundaries, Relationships and People Pleasing with Pauline Buckley

Fashion unplugged is back and this week we are talking about the very important topic of boundaries. We have a very special guest, Pauline, who can talk us through the relationships we hold with others, the notion of people pleasing and protecting ourselves with boundaries. Pauline has had a career as a director in Human Resources for many years and 10 years ago changed her career into executive coaching. Then after the pandemic Pauline reevaluated this and decided to become a personal coach, helping many people to uncover what’s getting in the way, aligning who you truly are to live the life that you want to live. We chat all about the fear attached to boundaries and how we overcome this so our relationships in our work and personal life can thrive. Pauline and Jen will be sharing their own experiences of how boundaries can be set, and delve into how we need to set boundaries in the changing rooms too! Questioning why we seek validation from others in what we wear and why we need to set these boundaries in order to feel truly positive and confident in ourselves.  Check out Pauline’s website [https://www.imagineif.love]

Glossary of terms: Adrenal Glands:  Adrenal glands, also known as suprarenal glands, are small, triangular-shaped glands located on top of both kidneys. Adrenal glands produce hormones that help regulate your metabolism, immune system, blood pressure, response to stress and other essential functions. Cortisol affects several aspects of your body and mainly helps regulate your body's response to stress. Estrogen: Estrogen is a hormone that plays various roles in the body. In females, it helps develop and maintain both the reproductive system and female characteristics, such as breasts and pubic hair. Finally, it regulates your body’s metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Menopause: Menopause is when your periods stop due to lower hormone levels. This usually happens between the ages of 45 and 55. Perimenopause: Perimenopause is when you have symptoms before your periods have stopped. Marie Newman on Breast Cancer, Confidence and Style

This week on Fashion Unplugged we are talking about the very important topic of breast cancer and the effects this has on women going through it, both physically and emotionally. Breast cancer affects so many women, with 1 in 7 UK females being diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Knowing someone close to you, or going through this yourself, it is a life changing experience. We want to share the importance of checking yourself, because the earlier breast cancer is diagnosed, the better the chance of successful treatment. And to join us this week on the podcast we have the special guest Marie, a content creator who is currently going through breast cancer treatment. She is going to share her story and also give us her thoughts on how her clothing and style can help how she feels through this time. Marie is a Wolverhampton girl through and through now living in Shropshire. She’s mom to archie and a dog mom to Dolly & Cybil, and to say she has slight addiction to shopping is probably underselling it slightly! She has spent the majority of her career in banking & finance, but more recently working with her fiancé James who recently set up his own business. Her love of clothes and fashion started from a really early age and her Instagram page was born from her friends encouraging her to share her style and fashion ideas, and she’s so glad she did….  Timestamps 5:20 The breast cancer journey 10:40 Checking your breasts (https://www.nhs.uk/common-health-questions/womens-health/how-should-i-check-my-breasts/) [https://www.nhs.uk/common-health-questions/womens-health/how-should-i-check-my-breasts/)] 18:10 Changes within yourself during this time, physically and mentally 24:50 Where to find support during this time 28:30 What do you do to make yourself feel better during this time 35.40 How has fashion and beauty helped you to feel good during this time? 41:10 Tell us more about your personal style References 1 in 7 UK females will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/health-professional/cancer-statistics/statistics-by-cancer-type/breast-cancer [https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/health-professional/cancer-statistics/statistics-by-cancer-type/breast-cancer] When diagnosed at its earliest stage, all (100%) people with breast cancer will survive their disease for one year or more, compared with 2 in 3 (66%) people when the disease is diagnosed at the latest stage.
