On Grieving and Looking Ahead

On today’s episode, we wrap up the season with a solo episode on grief. Grief manifests in all kinds of surprising ways. More than that, what we grieve can be just as surprising as how we grieve. Over the past months, I’ve been experiencing new and old waves of grief surrounding aging, the loss of loved ones, and the state of our country. Authenticity Through Community

Back in 2022, Randall Nielsen and Ashley Johnson were looking for community. As Queer artists in New Hampshire, they each felt a distinct lack of supportive, artistic space in which they could be their full selves. When they were connected at a Pride Festival organizing event, a creative spark was lit, and Queerlective [https://queerlective.com/] was born. Queerlective has emerged as a unique organization in the New Hampshire landscape, offering a wide range of workshops, exhibitions, and community events. They seek a more inclusive world for Queer, BIPOC and other marginalized communities through art, offering not only artistic support, but community care and social advocay as well. Today I’m joined by Executive Director Randall Nielsen, and Director of Marketing Ashley Johnson. You Are Unstoppable with Victoria Carrington Chavez

What does it take to move outside of the boundaries that keep us boxed in — or boxed out? In part, it means letting go of perfectionism, and allowing yourself to be seen. She is also the creative director and co-founder of Aspen and Lilac, and La Mezcla Creative Collective. Observing Symptoms of Dysfunction

Every problem, before it’s solved with a solution, must be met with a question. Why is this happening? An organization is no different, and when things aren’t running smoothly, it’s time to pause, observe, and problem solve. On today’s solo episode, I pull back the curtain to reveal the behind the scenes work the goes on when I’m called in to help an organization root out dysfunction. This could be anything from workflow issues to overarching culture issues (more on why this is usually a bit of a misdiagnosis later). Knowing what to look for and how to address it is a crucial skill for allowing a team to operate effectively. Choosing a Different Path with Sasha Breus
