Our movies decided our politics, and often times, they were a good slice of life that reflected the state of India. We mean - Our culture, society, traditions, the intersections of class, caste, patriarchy, religion and how it made landfall with socialism, capitalism and now neoliberalism in the past three decades. We see an India that is very unique, a story we hope we can tell through the lens of Cinema and Politics, accompanied by a good glass of Sarakku (Tamil: Alcohol). - Venki, Chaitanya, Prithvi.

This was Blessy's dream project and one he took 16 years to make ! This is Cinema at its finest and hats off to the director and PrithviRaj for their passion and commitment to make this happen

SCP S1 E2: Top Movies - 2023

Oh this was a wild one - hence the delay in uploading. We had to cut down half of the recording session. We are good at fighting over movies with a bottle of scotch all night and then going for breakfast but we didn't think that is appropriate for a podcast. May be at some point there is a bts?? Anyway! The next episodes will be much more frequent and on time. BRB!

Prashanth Neel, Kannada director of KGF fame is working with Prabhas, a Telugu superstar of Baahubali fame in itself is the sort of grandiose Indian cinema is made of. They both are 1000 crore club members (movies with a box office collection of 1000 crores) and are coming in with a super enthusiastic fan base of their own each. Released in December 2023, Salaar had huge expectations and anxiety - owing to Prabhas's not so well received movies since Baahubali and Prashanth's screenplay was under a tiny bit of scrutiny as well. So how did this movie do? Discussing it is Venki, Chaitanya and Prithvi.
