Acerca de Suffer Well Podcast

The Suffer Well Podcast isn’t therapy or self-help. It’s war doctrine for your soul. Hosted by Marine Corps veteran Mark Hall, this show calls men out of passivity and into the fight. Culture buries masculinity and numbs men with comfort and distraction, but Scripture commands: “Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus” (2 Tim 2:3). Expect raw truth, biblical manhood, and a battle plan to lead your home, church, and legacy. The world doesn’t need soft men, it needs warriors.

“I Am Him” — Pride, Ego, and the Illusion of Control

I want to start with a quick apology, it’s been awhile since the last episode. Life has been shaping me, God has been correcting me, and I’m grateful you’re still here. We’re entering the new year with weekly episodes, full steam ahead. Today’s episode is called “I Am Him.” For most of my life, I lived like I was my own god, self-made, self-sustained, and self-ruled. This episode is the story of how pride formed me, how God confronted me, and how Christ’s humility reshaped the way I view strength. We open Scripture together, Genesis 3, Proverbs 16, James 4, Philippians 2, Luke 22, to look at pride the way God describes it: not just a bad habit, but rebellion at the soul level. This is an honest, raw conversation about identity, confession, marriage, spiritual leadership, and the death of the man who keeps trying to sit on the throne. If you’ve ever wrestled with pride, anger, ego, control, or the weight of being “your own hero,” this episode will meet you right where you are. Thanks for sticking with me. We’re just getting started.

Episode 4 | Jonah’d It: Running From God, Learning in the Belly

In this episode of Suffer Well Podcast, I share my own Jonah story. In May 2025, I quit my job as a lineman apprentice, a job my wife and I prayed fervently for, because I couldn’t stand the culture around me. Instead of seeing those men as my Nineveh, I saw them as the problem and I ran. I Jonah’d it. But running from God doesn’t lead to freedom, it leads to the belly. Bills piled up, hustles failed, and I watched my wife carry the weight I was supposed to shoulder. Like Jonah, I had to learn that the fish wasn’t punishment, it was preservation. This episode dives into: * What it means to “Jonah it” and run from God’s assignment. * The belly as a place of discipline, not destruction. * Why provision and hard work are acts of worship (Genesis 2, 1 Timothy 5). * How God spits us out, not to shame us, but to send us. * Why the real mission field is in the workplace, not just the church. If you’ve ever quit something God called you to, or you’re sitting in your own belly moment, this episode is for you. God is not finished with you. He will spit you out in mercy, because Nineveh is still waiting.

The War on Innocence

This is not a comfortable episode. It’s not supposed to be. Sex trafficking isn’t just “over there.” It’s here. It’s now. And it’s fueled by silence, porn, and the collapse of fatherhood. Globally, 27.6 million people are enslaved. Over 6.3 million are trapped in sexual exploitation. In America alone, thousands of minors are trafficked every year while men scroll, stay silent, and leave their gates wide open. This episode calls it out. Every stat. Every verse. Every failure. And then we issue orders. Because God does not ask men politely to defend the innocent—He commands it. Psalm 82 says, “Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked. "Silence isn’t neutral. It’s betrayal. 👉 Hotline Information If you suspect trafficking, call 1-888-373-7888 or text HELP to 233733.

How Men Break and How Christ Saves

Men are dying in silence. Veterans, husbands, and fathers are carrying battles no one sees until it’s too late. In this episode, I open up about the night I almost ended my life, the cycle of self-destruction I lived in, and how Christ broke through my silence. We talk real about: * Men’s mental health and suicide * The silence that kills men from the inside out * Elijah’s crash, Paul’s scars, and David’s cave season * Why coping doesn’t cleanse, only Christ does * What it really means to suffer well This isn’t self-help. It’s not therapy talk. It’s a raw, unfiltered conversation about mental health, masculinity, and the God who saves broken men. If you’ve wrestled with depression, if you’ve buried your pain, if you’ve wondered where God is in your suffering then this episode is for you. ⚠️ Disclaimer: This episode includes discussion of depression and suicidal thoughts. Listener discretion advised. If you’re in immediate crisis, dial 988 (U.S.) to connect with the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Veterans can dial 988 and press 1.

What Is A Man?

Welcome to the Suffer Well Podcast Episode 1 This isn’t therapy. This isn’t self-help fluff. This is war doctrine for your soul. In this first episode, we set the tone: why men must embrace suffering, reject passivity, and reclaim biblical manhood in a soft culture. From fatherlessness to pornography, weak pulpits to comfort addiction—we expose the lies breaking men down and lay out God’s blueprint for strength, sacrifice, and stewardship. 📖 Scriptures referenced: * 2 Timothy 2:3 * Genesis 2:15, 18 * 1 Corinthians 16:13–14 * Ephesians 5:25 * Joshua 24:15 * Micah 6:8 * And more… 👊 Topics covered: * Why suffering is part of the assignment * The collapse of manhood in today’s culture * The lies discipling men into weakness * God’s design: strength, sacrifice, stewardship * A battle plan to lead your home and fight back If you’re tired of motivational fluff and want real talk, real Scripture, and real doctrine—you’re in the right place. The world doesn’t need more soft men. The world needs warriors. The world needs you.
