Acerca de The Nomadic Otter Eclecticast

Eclectic in nature, entertainer of thoughts, i do this to do it, if you like it or not. A podcast for Philosophical people who enjoy stories of the journey into psyche. Im an avid Alan Watts non-disciple, and Terrence Mckenna would consider me a psychonaut. Jump into the void with me and lets float down like an otter in the stream of the unknown.

The Nomadic Otter Eclecticast #7: Whats Philosophy Got To Do With Being Funny? How Does One Obtain Comedic Genius?

This week on: The Nomadic Otter Eclecticast #7 [https://soundcloud.com/tags/7]: What Does Philosophy Have To Do With Being Funny? How Does One Obtain Comedic Genius? For my 2 year anniversary as a comedian I get into Alan Watts Lecture on Intuitiveness/ trusting yourself in relation to the analogy of a great comedian. really interesting insight to philosophy using an art form which I love and am an aspiring amateur in, so this philosophy has been super helpful to me, and we end the episode w/ bill burr showing us as an example how trusting your mind and instintscs in a moment where theres no time to think or decide, what comedic genius really is by destroying hecklers, a radio interview where he talks about his most unique heckles and an interview where he destroys the host by taking control of the show using his intuitive instincts and we see the philosophy applied by one of my favorite professional stand- up Comedians All Clips pulled from Youtube. The Nomadic Otter Eclecticast #6 Pt 1&2: What Is The Joseph Campbell Mono-Myth Matrix? Whats The Heroes Journey Have To Do With Comparative Religion?

Clips were used for educational purposes from Warner Bros. Motion Picture which is their Property "The Matrix" (1999) All Rights Reserved. I use the matrix as a modern conceptual film about what Joseph Campbell considered "The Future Myth" he passed away 12 yrs before this film was thought up and made, which was said to be inspired by Campbells book "The Hero Of 1000 Faces" which also influenced films like Tim Burtons Batman Films in the 90s, Lion King 94', The Matrix Films, Star Wars, Indian Jones ect.  I feel The Matrix is the best one in order to describe how in 100's of years this could be seen as the modern day Jesus like story with the mythos and patterns of symbolism and how the same thing plays out in the films as the mythos of christ consciousness. Matrix Fans, and Philosophy fans this is where our worlds collide, Red pill only down the habit I mean rabbit hole we go.

The Nomadic Otter Eclecticast #4 Jesus man! Get with it! Who the H**L is Joseph Campbell???

New Eclectic-cast episode out now! This weeks episode: Jesus Christ man! Get with it? Who the H**L is Joseph  Campbell?! We get into the power of the myth in a comparative religious way with comparative mythology to match! We talk about the "follow your bliss" philosophy and I interpret modern films in order to give relevance to the mono-myth theory that Joseph Campbell invented from his study of English & medieval literature, to mathematics & biology to a professor at Sara Lawrence, When inspires George Lucas to write the greatest film saga of all time STAR WARS. such a fun time making this one tune in, turn on, and lets drop out! All clips were used for educational purposes and All Rights Are Reserved to Joseph Campbell Foundation  And for sharing his knowledge with the public, go to @netflix and watch "The Power Of The Myth" (This is a passion project, in which I choose not to monetize, and i do not benefit from doing this other than the "bliss" I've found in it, no adds, no sponsors, no money could ever buy my desire to keep it this way)

The Nomadic Otter Eclecticast #3 What The F***k is karma?.... Love??

This week I dig into Karma (Buddhism & Hinduism based philosophy) and its misconception, in the 20th century western culture we see it as law which if you investigate further isn't the case. I share my personal stories and my failures and wrong doings to give examples as to why the philosophy behind understanding and practicing it in our day to day lives, is helpful. to navigating our way around. The idea comes from the segment on this episode titled "This Week" where I talk about an interesting event in my week and how I worked through it mentally. This one takes a winding road from my past to my present, my failures and realizations, my wrong doings and taking responsibility for them. In this flashback my band in high school is where I got the music used in this episode written and recorded by Coleidoscope w/ my talented friends Henry James, Adam Ditt , & Aaron Peart Look them up on social media and if you like these songs they are available for download with a donation of what you can afford, my band mates went on to become rather successful and are touring the world this year, in Europe. Henry w/ Robert John & The Wreck, Adam w/ Balto, this keeps food in their bellies so they can continue to shred. I don't receive any of the money, I'm just asking that if you support this podcast (non monetarily)  and would like to own your own copy and support local talented artists living their dreams, you can @ www.coleidoscope.bandcamp.com Shout out to my long time, good friend Kerry-leah for being a lover, muse and teacher in the past and a close dear friend and loved one now through it all. a lot of good stories, and insights into investigative thought and pure experience, plus some extra groovy tunes all the philosophy sound bits from Alan Watts, is used for educational purposes.
