Taking Initiative, Self-Forgiveness, Trusting Your Gut and More with Sarah Maloney

Everyone needs to hit the reset button once in a while. As a self-proclaimed “outside person”, Sarah Maloney uses nature, the wilderness, and camping to refresh her drive and motivation when she feels her plate getting a little too full. Throughout her college career, Sarah has been able to immerse herself in several clubs and outside organizations while working up to 3 jobs at one time and maintaining relationships with her friends and family. Her unique combination of interests from environmental science to law to mental health, Sarah was able to bring so many valuable pieces of information to this interview. Some things we discuss: -Subjecting yourself to multiple enviroments -The pros and cons of technology -The attractiveness of challenges -AmeriCorps -How to complete tasks vs. knowledge gained -Realizing most things are temporary -Invisible injuries -The importance of being honest with yourself -How life doesn’t owe you anything -Taking initiative -Self-forgiveness -Trusting your gut -Reflex vs. your gut instinct My favorite quote said by Sarah: “When you’re going through a hard time, both the highs and the lows are artificial” Some books recommended by Sarah: 1.) Wild by Cheryl Strayed 2.) Tiny Beautiful things by Cheryl Strayed This process of creating this podcast has been incredibly fun and rewarding. Ending things with Sarah’s interview made it even more valuable. She gave so much practical advice that could be applied quickly in the lives of almost all college students. I hope all the listeners enjoyed this experience as much as I did and thank you so much for taking time out of your day. Trust your process. -Patrick

Going All In On Your Passion, Positive Momentum, Mindfulness and More with Jay Azeltine

Today, entrepreneurship has gained some traction and popularity. The evolution of social media, technology, and the internet has opened up opportunities to make money for people from all walks of life. Jay Azeltine saw this opportunity and seized it completely. After working a desk job and going to college for about three years, Jay was laid off, dropped out and started his own fitness and nutrition business. In combination with real estate investing, Jay has created a sustainable full-time income. Jay brings so much value and information to the table, it was hard to capture it all in one podcast. At just 23 years old, Jay has a drive and dedication that is rare and is rapidly leading him towards a life of impact. Some things we discuss: -Going all-in on your passion -Money allowing freedom -Chasing your passion -Influence of Cory Gregory -Importance of a mentor -Hanging around the right people -Positive momentum and small wins -The importance of having a date on the calendar -Self-discipline -Importance of saving money Some books recommended and mentioned by Jay: 1.) Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki 2.) The War of Art by Steven Pressfield 3.) Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill 4.) The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer 5.) The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle His social media all contained under the same username: @jay_azeltine Even before interviewing him, I learned a ton from Jay. I’ve been following him on social media for a couple years now and the consistency and rate of relevant and valuable information he posts is rivaled only by his mentor, Cory Gregory. No matter who you are, what you like, what sport you play, or how you make money, you can learn from Jay. Hope you enjoy this one like I did. -Patrick
