She is also a former Global Fellow at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP), where she deepened her work at the intersection of peace, security, and global governance. With over seven years of experience, Balkis has worked with 25+ international organisations, including UNESCO, USAID, Peace Direct, and multiple UN entities, contributing as a trainer, programme designer, youth engagement specialist, and regional leader. She has launched fellowships, directed youth-led initiatives, and currently leads human rights training at the AMEL Institute, overseeing a network of nearly 1,000 alumni.
