In this episode Contessa Akin shares her authentic and raw story of being abandoned by her biological mother at the age of 3, with her sister, on the side of the road.  She then experienced sexual abuse, and abuse by a close family member who liked to stop her breathing and bring her back to life, She never felt safe, and grew up hating life and hating herself and very angry. All of this trauma led her to make many bad decisions and have traumatic experiences. But she's proud to say, she overcame that past. And she's helped thousands of women overcome their past traumas as well.
