Moment: Grief shaped how we live, love, work | Belinda Katumba.

In this moment, Belinda Katumba talks about grief, mental health, and how Ugandans understand both.A 2026 Ministry of Health report estimates that about 24.2% of adults and 22.9% of children in Uganda are affected by mental health conditions. Yet, fewer than 1 in 10 people who need care receive the right support. This is a big issue, especially in a country where 73.2% of the population is below the age of 30. The report also shows that 50.9% of young people aged 18–30 are not in employment, education, or training. This can lead to distress, hopelessness, addiction, untreated depression, and many other silent struggles.Belinda helps us look at grief as one of the hidden issues affecting the mental health of many Ugandans. Grief is not always talked about, but it shapes how people live, love, work, and heal. This is why conversations like this matter.- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3XI-JhSkw4&t=854sWatch this moment from We Need To Talk Podcast and join the conversation.watch full conversation with belinda here ; Listen to our podcast here:https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/gathernownetwork

Uganda Is Not Ready for AI | Youth Unemployment, School Dropouts & Education Crisis

Is Uganda really ready for AI when many young people are still unemployed, many are dropping out of school, and many graduates are not even working in the fields they studied? In this episode, I sit down with Benjamin Rukwengye to talk about the real state of education, jobs, and opportunity in Uganda. We talk about why so many young people end up doing work they never studied for, why youth unemployment is still a big problem, and whether our education system is preparing young people for the future or holding them back. Benjamin also shares his thoughts on AI integration in Uganda, the education crisis, school dropouts, and why we may need to rethink how we prepare young people for work, purpose, and opportunity. This conversation is for every young person trying to find direction, every parent thinking about the future of their child, every teacher, employer, and leader who cares about the next generation. In this episode, we talk about: * Why Uganda may not be ready for AI * Youth unemployment in Uganda * Why many people do jobs they never studied * The education crisis * School dropouts * Whether we need a global education overhaul * How young people can chase and achieve their dreams * Why degrees alone may not be enough anymore Watch the full conversation and share your thoughts in the comments. My Grand Mother Saved My Life From Cancer. I Was Cut Open Like a Cow & spent over 27hrs in a theatre

In this episode, we hear about a grand Mother Saved a Life From Cancer who was Cut Open Like a Cow in the theatre for an operation that too more that 27 hours. Moses echodu is a survivor of cancer in uganda, africa and he leads the team at the uganda child cancer foundation.Moses shared the inspiring story of UCCF’s journey, which began in 2006 with the goal of providing psychosocial care for children suffering from cancer. What started as a foundation to mobilize public funds for treatment has since evolved into a fully-fledged NGO, expanding its focus to include advocacy, awareness, research, and patient support. We discuss the challenges of diagnosing serious conditions like various cancer symptoms, which often mimic common illnesses such as malaria, bacterial infections, and typhoid disease. The conversation highlights how initial signs, like fever, can be misleading, making early and accurate diagnosis difficult. This is particularly crucial when dealing with infectious diseases where prompt treatment can save lives. 🧘‍♀️✨we hope this conversation brings healing, comfort and hope to those dealing with cancer.SUBSCRIBE TO THIS CHANNELhttps://www.youtube.com/c/GatherNowNetwork WE NEED TO TALK PODCASThttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwZ1Vq2ng2ck5tw7h8JZxNw #cancer #africadiseases #cancertreatment #weneedtotalkpodcast #gathernownetwork
