Not every voice that challenges you is leading you toward truth. There are many voices competing for our attention. Some voices bring truth. Some bring fear. Some push us toward clarity… while others attempt to distort how we see ourselves and what God has spoken concerning us. In this episode, I reflect on a dream involving roots, rich soil, and a taunting voice that challenged my authority and ability to stand firmly. Through this reflection, I explore the importance of discerning between the voice of God and the voice of the deceiver. Using the story of Jesus in the wilderness from the Gospel of Matthew, we examine how the enemy often tempts us to: * prove ourselves * question our identity * move outside of God’s timing * and disconnect from truth Discernment is not panic. It is not performance. It is rooted truth. The soil is rich. I have nothing to prove. I answer to God.

So often, we can hear God clearly, recognize His voice, and even understand what He is asking of us… but still remain still. Why? Because movement requires faith. Jonah heard God clearly… but struggled to accept what God was asking of him. Sometimes God will lead us in ways that don’t feel comfortable, fair, or aligned with our own understanding. And in those moments, discernment becomes less about clarity—and more about posture. Am I open? Am I willing? Am I carrying the fruit of the Spirit as I respond? In this episode, I reflect on the quiet spaces where discernment begins. Anchored in Book of 1 Samuel 3, where Samuel hears the voice of God while lying in the stillness of the night, I talk about how learning to hear God often begins when the many voices around us grow quiet. Lately, my life has been creating more space for stillness. Some relationships have shifted, and I’ve had more opportunities to simply be with myself. In that quiet, I’ve been learning more about discerning God’s voice and His will — but also learning to discern my own voice and my agency. Because confusion often comes when we are listening to too many voices. But clarity grows when the heart learns the posture of Samuel: “Speak Lord… I’m listening.” I also share a moment that felt personal to me in this season — hearing Robert Madu preach from the very same chapter just one week after I released Episode 1.
