episode Daniel Burger, Founder of Eightsix Science - Solving death through brain replacement cover

Daniel Burger, Founder of Eightsix Science - Solving death through brain replacement

Daniel Burger [https://www.linkedin.com/in/danburonline/] is a neuroengineer and founder of EightSix Science [https://eightsix.science/], a company working to solve death as an engineering challenge. He recently raised funding from Tim Draper [https://www.draper.vc/] and is partnering with Japanese universities on cutting-edge brain tissue engineering. His background spans neuroengineering, organoid development, and what might be the most ambitious technical challenge in biotech: keeping human brains alive indefinitely. In this episode, we discuss bio-hybrid brain replacement, whole brain explantation, and the Ship of Theseus approach to gradually replacing brain tissue without losing yourself. We explore cortical reorganization as proof that memories can shift between substrates, why you can’t just swap brains like hearts, the inverse Neuralink strategy of printing brain tissue around electrodes, and the SpaceX-style commercialization roadmap that could make this financially viable decades before the final goal. After recording conversations on longevity, spirituality, and somatic practises, I’ll soon write an essay about “You can talk about whatever you want”. episode Aleks Kop - Too much in our head, never in our body cover

Aleks Kop - Too much in our head, never in our body

Aleks Kop [https://confidenceclub.me/] is a confidence coach who teaches and helps people cultivate a connection with their inner selves, guiding their choices towards a more authentic and fulfilling life. In other words, she helps you get off your head and more into your body. If you have ever been told to “listen to your gut”, but found yourself unable to even sense if you had a gut feeling to begin with, this is the kind of work we’re talking about. After trying to launch two startups without making them work, I was lost and didn’t know what to do. All of my tools, fully focused on using the mind and its rational ways, collapsed. I was unable to reverse engineer and plan the best path ahead, as I had always done. For months, I woke up and went to sleep with a feeling of generalized anxiety. Out of desperation, at last, I just accepted and surrendered to it as something I couldn’t do much about, but I wanted, at least, to understand what it really wanted from me. I worked with Aleks for four months and she completely changed my life. Thanks to her help, I am now fully comfortable in my body, my emotions, and those of others. But our journey together goes even further. I discovered things that were influencing my life without me even being aware of it, and I discovered a new way of living, a way that is so much more profound and intensely human. It’s been hard as f**k, but I am very happy to have gone through it. It’s wonderful to have her as a guest and I hope, with this little surface-scratching, that you will find this helpful. episode Carlo Alberto Gaetaniello, CPO at Serenis - Spirituality, religion, and meaning cover

Carlo Alberto Gaetaniello, CPO at Serenis - Spirituality, religion, and meaning

Today I’m sitting down with Carlo Alberto Gaetaniello [https://www.linkedin.com/in/carlo-alberto-gaetaniello/], a dear friend, CPO at Serenis [https://www.serenis.it/] - a leading mental health company in Europe, previous multiple-time founder, and on top of it all, even a recent neuroscience graduate. Throughout our friendships, I learned a lot from him, and he has had an important impact on how I think about life in things like meditation, the art of surrendering, inner alignment, and authenticity. In this close to three-hour conversation, we talk about our deep personal research of spirituality, religion, and meaning, and touch on many other topics like entrepreneurship, identity, psychedelics, and death. Although I am writing here in English, the conversation was fully recorded in Italian. As these topics are somewhat rare in our country, especially coming from people working in tech, we thought we had a duty to start representing certain conversations in our mother tongue. For those interested in listening to it in English, I’ll soon publish this if feasible in an AI-English version, or you can generate the English subtitles on YouTube. This is a public episode.
