Les mer STORYBORN

STORYBORN is a podcast for anyone with Story, and that’s everyone. Here, we ask important questions such as: What is Story? What is the Story you were born into? How has your world shaped your Story, and in turn how has your Story shaped your world? We consider how, wielded well, Story is an ancient human technology with the power to solve problems, create connection, and engender empathy. We also examine how Story’s power can be used to literally and metaphorically divide, destroy, and even kill... Ultimately, we explore what it means to transcend Story entirely and become StoryShapers.

Episode 1, Part 2: Some Place in a Slough Between Purgatory and Hell, or "How Manson Got its Name" with BOB CUNNINGHAM

Welcome to Season 1, Episode 1, Part 2 of STORYBORN. Where does one begin a story? Where and when is a story born? We all know that stories have beginnings, middles, and ends, but what about the tapestry of All Story, where all stories meet, connect, and weave together? How does one tell that story? I've chosen to start Season 1 close to home in my hometown of Manson, IA. On today's episode, I continue the conversation with BOB CUNNINGHAM, a Manson, IA, native and town historian. We continue to explore a range of subjects from Manson's entrepreneurial origins, to (more about) antique automobiles, to how Manson got it's name. We look even farther back into Manson's history and discuss the Manson Impact Crater (you can find out more about that here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manson_crater) and begin to grapple with the difficult history how the founding of our community displaced the communities of indigenous peoples who first called this part of Iowa home. Bob is currently working on a book about the first 150 years of Manson's history for the upcoming sesquicentennial, and the proceeds of the book will go to benefit a town restoration project. You can find out more about the book, Manson, IA, The First 150 Years: Stories of an Extraordinary Iowa Town Shaped by Calamity and Courage, Commerce and Crime, and Bob's work as an artist by following the links below. Episode 1, Part 1: "Is this Mayberry R.F.D.? No, it's Manson, IA." with BOB CUNNINGHAM

Welcome to Season 1, Episode 1, Part 1 of STORYBORN. On today's episode, I welcome BOB CUNNINGHAM, a Manson, IA, native and town historian to join us on STORYBORN as our very first guest. With Bob, I explore a range of subjects from Manson's entrepreneurial origins, to antique automobiles (and how Manson almost became an automobile manufacturing town), to the short story of Manson. We consider the purpose of rural communities, as well as concepts of story vs. history and community vs. place, and I inquire as to how Bob began delving into the annals of Manson's history. Bob is currently working on a book about the first 150 years of Manson's history for the upcoming sesquicentennial, and the proceeds of the book will go to benefit a town restoration project. Intro Episode: Welcome to STORYBORN...Let's Begin

If you are reading this right now, chances are highly likely that you are one of the People of planet Earth...and if that is so, chances are nearly inescapable that you were born into a Story. You are the lineage of countless stories. Innumerable beginnings, endings, and new beginnings conspired to make you possible. You are a thread of the cocreated and ever-evolving mythos of humankind. Born of story, living story, and memorialized in story when we depart, we are all Story. And this…is STORYBORN. … Welcome word weavers, story spinners, and meaning makers. STORYBORN is a podcast for anyone with Story, and that’s everyone. And especially those seeking to more deeply understand or transform how their personal Story connects with the collective tapestry of All Story. On STORYBORN, we engage actively in the powerful process of opening to, sharing, listening to, getting curious about, and allowing ourselves to be moved by Story. We examine the way stories are framed, and we observe how some stories limit us while others educate and uplift us. We consider how, wielded well, Story is an ancient human technology with the power to solve problems, create connection, engender empathy, and ultimately provide the possibility of regenerative, empowered relationship with our Self and the world. We also examine how Story’s power can be used to literally and metaphorically divide, destroy, and even kill... We ask important questions such as:  What is Story? What is the Story you were born into? Where does your Story intersect with other stories? What meaning do you give to your Story? What is the impact of your Story on other stories? Sometimes, we embrace our stories and sometimes we may wish to run away from them, but more powerful than escaping Story is shaping Story. We explore what it means to transcend story entirely and become StoryShapers.  STORYBORN can be found wherever stories are told and podcasts are hosted, including Apple Podcasts and Spotify. We invite you to listen along, rate, review and share Storyborn with anyone else who appreciates the power of Story, and of course, we welcome hearing your Story when you leave us a comment. Welcome to STORYBORN. Let’s begin.

Liker at det er både Podcaster (godt utvalg) og lydbøker i samme app, pluss at man kan holde Podcaster og lydbøker atskilt i biblioteket.
Bra app. Oversiktlig og ryddig. MYE bra innhold⭐️⭐️⭐️
