EP 107: Overnight Shoots & Spicy Movie Opinions w/ Kellen Gibbs & Ka’Prise Colvin

🎬 This week on The 30s Podcast, Clint goes solo to sit down with director Kellen Gibbs (@kellegibbs) and actor Ka’Prise Colvin (@kaprisecolvin) to talk about their new independent film, The Novel. They talk about overnight shoots that make coffee look like a performance-enhancing drug, filming out of order (aka “Movie Sudoku”), and what really happens when art meets a tight budget. Also: why superhero movies are in trouble, why “bad” movies might be brilliant, and how horror-comedy is the genre we don’t deserve. If you love movies, chaos, or just hearing artists tell the truth, this episode is your behind-the-scenes hall pass. 📽 Film: The Novel 🎙 Guests: Kellen Gibbs (Director) & Ka’Prise Colvin (Actor)

Disney’s Snow White remake? Chelsea wants no part of it—and she’s got plenty to say! EP 105: Rolling Red Flags: Why Party Buses Are a Scam

Would you ever hop on a party bus? Clint wouldn’t—and for good reason. When he got the invite, the warning signs were everywhere: Why was this happening? Who was actually going? And why was it $80 just to step on board? What started as a simple question quickly spiraled into a deep dive on why party buses are often less “epic night out” and more “rolling social nightmare.” In this episode of The 30s Podcast, Clint and Marcus unpack the unspoken rules of party bus culture, from the awkward guy-to-girl ratios to the sheer desperation that fuels these mobile chaos machines. Clint breaks down exactly why he refused to go, exposing the red flags that make these events a hard pass. Meanwhile, Marcus shares his own insights on navigating invites, avoiding FOMO traps, and knowing when to just say no. If you’ve ever felt pressured to join a night out you weren’t sure about, or just want a good laugh at the ridiculousness of it all, this episode is for you. 🎙️ Buckle up (metaphorically, because let’s be real—there are no seatbelts on these things), and let’s talk about why sometimes, the best move is to stay home. 🚫🚌 🔊 Listen now! episode EP 103: The Fading Magic of Christmas cover

EP 103: The Fading Magic of Christmas

Christmas is always kind of whatever for me. As I reflect on the holiday season, I can't help but feel that Christmas has a darker side that many people overlook. Once you become an adult, the magic of Christmas seems to fade. The excitement of receiving presents as a child is replaced with the reality of adult responsibilities and the weight of the year coming to an end. The joy of the holiday season is often overshadowed by the stress of shopping, family gatherings, and the pressure to create the perfect holiday experience. I find myself reminiscing about the carefree days of childhood, where Christmas felt like a magical time filled with wonder and joy. Now, as a 36-year-old adult with no kids to buy for, Christmas feels like just another reminder that time is passing by. The days are shorter, the nights are colder, and the festive cheer can sometimes feel forced. I can't help but notice how many horror movies are set during Christmas, like 'Krampus' and 'Black Christmas,' which adds to the gloominess of the season. It's a time when we are supposed to feel joy, yet many of us feel a sense of dread as we navigate the complexities of adult life. I also want to share my favorite Christmas movies, which include classics like 'Home Alone' and 'Batman Returns.' These films remind me of the joy of the holiday season, even if they have their darker elements. So, as we approach Christmas, I encourage you to reflect on your own feelings about the holiday and consider how it has changed for you over the years. Let's embrace the good and the bad parts of Christmas together, and maybe find a little joy in the process. Liker at det er både Podcaster (godt utvalg) og lydbøker i samme app, pluss at man kan holde Podcaster og lydbøker atskilt i biblioteket.
Bra app. Oversiktlig og ryddig. MYE bra innhold⭐️⭐️⭐️
