#04 The Technical Series - Supporting Sustainability Claims with Flavio, MSc in engineering.

Welcome to the first episode of The Technical Series of The Decora Edit. This episode is the first of a series which will dive deeper into more technical topics and will discuss with people from different industries to learn more on how we can bring the fashion industry into a greener, brighter future. My guest for today’s episode is Flavio, for the past 8yrs has been working for tech start-ups as a software engineer in Lisbon, London and US. His background is in mechanical engineering, in the specific computer methods applied to engineering problems. Flavio has an interest in sustainability and renewable energies and in this episode we will bring to you our conversation on LCA and Technology. We discussed what a LCA is, what it means to fundament environmental claims, the difficulties that small brands face performing LCAs. The absence of data to support these claim, and what the fashion industry could learn from the web software sphere, regarding sharing intellectual property and data. Happy listen!
