2FC 1.27: No Playoff Blues — Now What?

The Blues are officially eliminated from playoff contention. With three games still left to play, the final blow came from out west as the Kings’ win over the Oilers mathematically knocked St. Louis out of the race. A tough way for the season to end, especially with meaningful hockey still on the schedule. This week was a perfect snapshot of the season: a huge statement win against Colorado, followed by a flat rematch, a frustrating loss to Winnipeg, and finally a strong bounce-back win over Chicago. The Blues are heating up at exactly the right time. After going 4-1-1 in their last six games, St. Louis is playing some of their best hockey of the season and it’s the young guns leading the charge.
