By integrating solar thermal panels and photovoltaic systems alongside their woodchip boiler, the district heating provider in the town of Grenaa, Denmark, has developed a versatile energy system that supports both their sustainability goals and reduces costs for their customers. Danske Commodities collaborates closely with the company, assisting in production planning and optimisation. In this episode, CEO of Grenaa Heating Plant Søren Gertsen and Senior Originator Jakob Krogshave Laursen provide insight into the process.

With the ability to transform renewable energy into other types of energy, such as hydrogen or methanol, Power-to-X plays an important role in providing the flexibility needed in our energy system to help the world succed with the green transition. In this episode, we visit Northern Europe's biggest Power-to-X plant in Denmark, the Kassø plant owned by European Energy, and talk to the plant's Asset Optimisation Engineer, Rolvur Reinert, and Danske Commodities' own Head of Flexible Asset Management, Jesper Vestergaard, about the complex task of optimising the plant's production.
