Yeah, we're going to call this the first week. It's really hard to make judgement on such a small sample size but I'm starting to think that my 1935 Boston Braves arereally bad at baseball. Maybe that's why they have 2 totally washed up Hall of Famers hanging around for no good reason. At least they're not the only winless team thanks to Seattle and the New York Giants also sucking it majorly. On the other hand it's almost impossible to tell who is doing really well at this point. For the most part the division leaders all have 4 wins with a few having an extra loss in there. At this point nobody is out of the race in any waySmall sample size for hitters, Otto Velez of the Toronto Blue Jays is starting the year of strong leading FLB in home runs (6), On-base percentage (.630), slugging percentage (1.5), OPS (2.13), WAR (1.3), and total bases (30) while some other notable multiple category leaders in Gary Sheffield of the Florida Marlins leading FLB in hits (14) and runs (11) and Cliff Floyd of the Marlins leading in RBI (16) and triples (2). On the pitching side of things it's again the law of small sample sizes. I'm not even going to talk about wins and losses and that sort of thing here because there just hasn't been time for anyone to separate themselves from the pack. Heck even a lot of pitchers still have a 0.00 ERA even if I'm only looking at starting pitchers. Jesus Sanchez of the Marlins leads FLB in strike outs (22) and literally everything else is so clumped together that I don't even want to talk about it. I can put charts here as well if people want to see that thing, but I honestly don't think it'll be that useful until around a month into the season anyway. This episode 0 is an introduction to what Fake League Baseball is going to be. Basically using Out of the Park Baseball to simulate a baseball season using some weird parameters week by week. For this inaugural season I'm looking at using the worst year (by winning percentage) that each team has ever had. You can see a full list, including links to Baseball Reference pages, on the preview post for the season [https://ninjapenguinpods.com/fakeleaguebaseball/season-1-the-worst-teams-for-each-franchise-ever/].
