In the Prologue, Tenika Watson and her agent, Zina AlDamlouji, discuss the Prolgue of her self-published book - which includes becoming homeless 1 year after she began her addiction recovery and a healing encounter that happened a few years later, thanks to Ida Pendergrass, Teddy's mother. Tenika and Zina also unearth an admission in 2019 by Teddy's former manager, Shep Gordon, that he independently started one of the false rumors that Teddy and Tenika having a sexual encounter was the cause of the accident that left Teddy handicapped.
In the Preface, Tenika's answers the question "Who Was Johnny? Who Is Tenika?" and describes her transition journey from a childhood estranged from her parents to the freedoms and limitations of surviving as a black, trans sex worker in the second half of the 20th century.
In the Introduction, Tenika's agent, Zina AlDamlouji, provides a brief account of Tenika's remarkable story of self-love, survival & recovery and why NOW is the time for Tenika to tell her story in her own words.
