Beyond the Stories: Part Four

In this lesson, we explore a bold and liberating perspective: God, not as a distant figure in the sky, but as a dynamic alive field of Presence expressing through all life. Together, we’ll reimagine heaven and hell, not as places we go someday, but as states of consciousness we experience every day. As we continue to take a fresh look at the Bible through our Unity lens, we’re going to ask a few powerful questions, one being: What does it really mean to be “saved”?  Perhaps you’ve sensed that there is more to spirituality than what you were taught – and you would be right! We believe that this message will open doors of understanding, expand your thinking, and lead you into a deeper, more intimate experience of the Divine within.

This Sunday we continue our delve into the spiritual power of the Bible. We are going to reexam Jesus, not as some distant, historical figure to be admired, but as a practical teacher, healer, and “way shower.” He didn’t come to be worshipped, but to be followed. What does it really mean to follow the spiritual teachings and not just believe in them? We will explore that question and also: Explore three daily practices that rewire the mind, Continue our thoughts about the Bible working as a mirror of our own consciousness and not just as a history book, And, look at why the “fall” wasn’t as it’s portrayed, but rather was an awakening into choice. The wisdom of Jesus has been echoed by masters like Buddha and Meister Eckhart, and together, we’ll discover how to live these teachings in real, everyday ways. Let’s move beyond belief into transformation, and see our life, our challenges, and even our “enemies” through a new lens!
