In this special Wheel of the Year episode, I discuss Beltane, a sabbat that comes from the original Gaelic festival. Much like Samhain, Beltane's a time of year when the veil is thin and spirits abound. Beltane's energies connect to passion, vitality, celebration, and life, as well as fairies and the awakening of nature. I talk about the complex history of this celebration, including how hares and eggs came to be connected to this time of year. I also discuss the lovely themes of fertility, resurrections, femininity, balance, and renewal that come with the Ostara sabbat. Although the sabbat itself is not complicated, deconstructing its history was quite the task!
