31 FolgenHappy new year everyone! Over the last few weeks on hiatus, we have taken time to reflect on the year and our podcast. We realize that as we transition and grow our professional identities, so must our creative endeavours. It’s a tough decision, but we have decided to take a step back to further reflect on our goals and next steps. We don’t know entirely what that is yet but we are excited to start brainstorming. This may be the end of LadySh!t, but it’s definitely not the end for Lily and Britt. We had always planned to do a re-cap bonus segment, so please tune in to hear more about our journey with this podcast! We want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to our listeners (from 48 countries!) and to our Patreon subscribers for keeping us going. * L & B
In our last episode of season 2, we interview Meagan Einarson, a Registered Dietitian from Winnipeg, Manitoba. As Meagan says, “we’ve been taught how to diet, but not how to eat,” and we couldn’t agree more! She provides advice on how we can improve our relationship with food by listening to body cues, tackling your inner food critic, and shifting the all-or-nothing mindset. Plus, she answers your LadySh!t listener questions on topics such as fad diets like intermittent fasting and the ketogenic diet, how to eat well as a new mom, and whether or not multivitamins are necessary. Even if you know a lot about food, we guarantee there’s something in this episode that can help you reflect on your own eating habits, so tune in! https://www.ellynsatterinstitute.org/ https://www.intuitiveeating.org/ https://globalnews.ca/news/5011864/reality-check-keto-crotch-keto-diet/?utm_medium=Facebook&utm_source=GlobalNews https://christyharrison.com/foodpsych https://eatcakepod.home.blog/
TW: Episode contains mention of sexual assault, sex trafficking How the heck should we feel about porn? Is it a vehicle for exploitation, or a pathway to sexual liberation? Can porn ever truly be feminist? And do women even watch porn?? If you’ve ever had these questions, you’re not alone! Luckily, Lily and Britt (and their now questionable browser histories) are here to shed some light on this complex topic. Enjoy! Why is it that women make up half of the population, but only account for a fraction of our elected representatives? With an election right around the corner, it seemed like a great time to find out! Join us as we talk about the Glass Cliff, unfair treatment by the media, and other factors that make it difficult for women to throw their hat in the political ring. Between Netflix specials, hit TV shows, and popular podcasts, it seems like funny females are everywhere! But is it really a great time to be a woman in comedy? In this episode, Lily and Britt explore barriers faced by women in this industry, such as dealing with tricky power dynamics, feeling pressure to conform to prescribed gender roles, and fighting for space within in a male dominated field. Plus, new contest alert involving one of our favourite funny ladies!
