In this episode, I share an experience that taught me Emotional Intelligence. Enjoy and share!

Have you ever been judged or shamed for expressing your vulnerability? Do you believe that vulnerability is a sign of weakness? Then listen to me share my experience about a time when I was shamed for expressing vulnerability and how you can embrace your vulnerability.

I understand when people sometimes say that "your job title is not important". . . But on this one, it was important to me, and I wasn't going to let it slide. Let me tell you about when I got promoted and didn't feel good about the new title and how I changed it. You see, I had not only gotten a promotion, I had gotten a significant raise too, but I was unhappy about the whole thing. I couldn't celebrate or even bring myself to respond to the email with excitement, which felt terrible. It's a long story. But later that week, I visited a friend, and we talked about it. Long story short, I summoned the courage to share my concerns with my boss and request a change in my new job title, and the following day, I got a new promotion letter reflecting my new job title. You can imagine the excitement I felt when I got my new letter. It's quite the story, so I recorded this episode with the full gist. Please listen, and let's talk about it. If this were you, what would you have done differently? And why? You can respond to me via email at ayokanmi@ownyourupgrade.com.
