Imagine Life Beyond Grief (Episode 31)
SHOW NOTES: IMAGINE LIFE BEYOND GRIEF
In this episode of A Widow’s Life with Vicki and Cindy, the conversation centers on the power of what we picture, think about, and meditate on after loss. Grief can fill the mind with sadness, fear, loneliness, and “what if” thoughts — but Vickie and Cindy encourage widows to begin asking, What am I seeing in the theater of my mind?
They talk about how quickly one negative thought can grow into a whole chain of fear, and why it matters to stop those thoughts early, take them captive, and replace them with God’s Word, hope, and life-giving images. Whether it is imagining safe travels for loved ones, a new friendship, a dream trip, a garden, a class, a business, a restored family, or simply a peaceful chair to read in, they remind listeners that vision matters.
Vicki and Cindy also share personal stories of healing, purpose, and learning to dream again after widowhood. They discuss vision boards, journaling, gratitude, writing the vision, and choosing to believe that God still has good plans ahead. This episode is a gentle but faith-filled reminder that life after loss does not have to stay stuck in grief. With God’s help, widows can begin to imagine joy, purpose, healing, and possibility again.

ENCOURAGEMENT FOR WIDOWS
Your thoughts matter. Your imagination matters. What you meditate on can either keep you stuck in grief or help you begin to see hope again.
God still has good plans for you. You are not too old, too broken, too lonely, or too far into grief for Him to give you fresh vision. Start small. Write down one good thing. Picture one hopeful possibility. Speak one promise from God’s Word. Let Him begin to rebuild joy in your heart and vision in your life.
REFLECTION QUESTION
What have you been seeing in your mind lately — fear, loneliness, and loss, or hope, healing, and God’s good plans for your future?
