Photographer to Meta PM to 3x Founder | Oana on Product Thinking & Skills That Survives AI

Oana went from award-winning celebrity photographer to waiting tables in London to building a 500K-user app: then led product at Avon and Meta. After coaching 500+ product leaders, she's now building her second startup to systematise product thinking at scale. We talk about the skills that survives AI automation, such as why coding is getting commoditised, how to develop skill-sets to adapt, why premium pricing is a founder's best filter, what's wrong with "ship fast, ship broken," how to hire your first team member, when to actually pivot, and the advice she'd give her 18-year-old self. For founders, aspiring PMs, developers thinking about the business side, and anyone building a non-linear career. Pivots aren't detours: they're how resilient people move forward. Stop Trying to Change the World Alone: Building Impact Through Community

We've been taught to think about careers as an individual journey: climb the ladder, make your mark, change the world on your own. But what if that's the wrong framework? Ming Zee is an environmental lawyer at a global law firm and co-founder of Legal Voices for the Future, a collaborative learning forum for young lawyers on the climate crisis. She's proof that you don't have to quit your corporate job to build something meaningful. She reminded me: "Your life is so short, you can't influence things globally. You just have to do a little bit and find your community."Listen to this episode for: → Balancing corporate work with climate activism → Why ego gets in the way of meaningful work → A quote that shifted her perspective about impact → Why local, intimate action matters more than we think. This isn't a "quit your job and follow your passion" podcast; it's about finding your people and doing what you can with what's around you. If you've ever felt overwhelmed by the pressure to have some massive career impact, this one's for you. Your Niche Is Your Leverage: Building Your Career and Finding Your Identity

On this episode of b. frank podcast, Cisem sits down with Ashley, founder of Flawk, to talk about building a career that does not follow a straight line. She started in architecture, pivoted into sustainability, and found her way back into design through an unexpected entry point: renovating a home.We break down what “finding your niche” actually means in practice. How to build a recognisable design language. Why portfolio and proof can matter more than credentials. The unglamorous founder skills are not talked about enough, like numbers, project management, and chasing timelines to ensure success and continuity. If you are early-career, switching paths, or building something on the side, this episode is a clear, honest look at what helps you stand out, earn trust, and keep moving when it gets hard.Listen to the full episode on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, or watch on YouTube.

Anti-hustle Entrepreneurship: Building a Business That Fits Real Life

Most startup advice is built around burnout. Hannah built a business designed to fit real life, and still stay profitable. On our first episode of b. frank podcast, we have Hannah Phang, founder of The Now Work, to break down what it really takes to build a career and a business in sustainability without the "hustle culture".We talk about:- Building a sustainable business model. How to design work around real life, and still stay strategic and profitable.- Credibility before communication. Why sustainability comms can backfire if the strategy and infrastructure are not there first, and what “foundation first” actually looks like.- Careers, portfolios, and relationships. Why proof of work and personal connections often beat generic applications, plus what to focus on if you are early-career.If you’re a student or young professional trying to break into sustainability, entrepreneurship, or climate-related work, take this episode as a practical guide: build a portfolio that shows your thinking, get close to real problems, ship small MVPs to learn faster, and invest in relationships that open doors.instagram - tiktok - linkedin:  @b.frankpodcast  [https://studio.youtube.com/channel/UCNenmsts5KbghS15lRK543A]
