From Law Enforcement Today, Tim discusses an article about a man outside a bank acting strangely and brandishing a weapon. The responding officers indicated that the man "thought he was being followed", so they suggested to the man that he check himself into a mental hospital. From a legal basis the police aren't able to offer this man a ride to the mental hospital, that is unless they place him under arrest or he's detained under suspicion of a crime being committed.
